AC Question
Hello guys,
I got my S8 two weeks ago and I'm very happy with the phone so far. Not issues, no red tint or broken glass (yet).
I read a lot of the other threads but I can assure you that mine is unique. Please don't laugh, lessons learned.
I used to charge my phone very close to the bin. One day I ate beans and had the trash in a bag outside ready to dump it in the bin. I disconnected the charger cable and dropped it on the ground, it accidently got into the beans can! I cleaned it, left it in rice for some time and decided to try to charge my phone (how stupid was I). I started charging no issues but after 1h after I disconnected it I got the dreaded message about moisture. Well, it wasn't a moisture but beans sauce. I don't know what was I thinking and should have binned the cable immediately. I used another cable and got the same message. This made me think that some beans sauce has stuck on the USB charging port. I cleaned it gently with tweezers and cloth and it got better. For two days, I haven't seen the message but I'm afraid of it coming back or whether this might cause corrosion in a long term.
Bought a new fast charge cable, a good one. I've noticed that if I connect it one way it says slow charging, if I swap the cable (yes, I know it is USB C) it says fast charging. Now my worry is whether the beans caused this issue and there is still contamination on the USB port OR it is because of the cable.
If it is something it is on the USB charging port itself, not inside the phone. I'm tempted to use alcohol swab or any other way to clean the USB port.
Your help and suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!
Cheers
