But how do they know that battery life has been improved.
This is what this thread is about , did you read the link in beginning? But how do they know that battery life has been improved.
Because that was one of the update improvements. But how do they know that battery life has been improved.
The battery improvement was mentioned in the release notes for the European update, but not for the US, so the improvement is probably only for the Exynos phones. The European update versions end in U1ATJ1, whereas in the US it's S1ATJ3. An S in that position in the firmware version indicates that the update only contains a security patch. A U indicates that the firmware update includes feature/system/stability improvements (and may include a security patch too).I don't see anything mentioning a battery improvement
I already had the security patch since October 4th so that couldn't be itThe battery improvement was mentioned in the release notes for the European update, but not for the US, so the improvement is probably only for the Exynos phones. The Android Security Patch Level (in this case, October 1) refers only to the security patch released by Google. There are also Samsung-specific security patches that can be released separately. So even if you already have the October 1 Android security patch, you can receive a second security-only update that's still at the October 1 Android Security Patch Level. That's what we have now with N986U1UES1ATJ3.I already had the security patch since October 4th so that couldn't be it
