Hey All,
I've been poking around the forums trying to figure out the best tablet. I currently don't own a tablet and till recently haven't felt a huge need for one. I think I am more looking at it as a convenient thing to pick up while sitting on the couch watching tellie that is bigger than a phone and more convenient than my laptop. I don't really play games though will likely use it as a media center (stream music, watch video while travelling, books etc.). The other consideration is that this will be shared between my wife and me. While I'm not paranoid about her reading my email something that is convenient for multiple users seems desirable. Since this isn't a gaming or heavy video tablet the best screen is not that important. Also functional pictures are nice but i'm not replacing my dSLR. Likwise, I care less about the best processor and more about something that is functionally snappy. Finally, I'm less concerned about getting the newest and the best b/c my guess is that in a year this will get co-opted by my infant son and if I like the tablet form I'll get something new for myself.
While price is not the primary concern it is still a factor. Ones I've been looking at:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8" - this seems like the leader but i'm unclear on the multiuser experience. The multitasking functionality seems cool
Nexus 7" - Multiuser is nice. Lack of expansiion - is that a problem? Smaller screen
Samsung Pro 8" - Is multiuser worth $150? i know the screen is better but that just doesn't matter to me
Kindle Fire - I'm guessing with all of the kindle lines, since there is no google play all of my google music is gone, correct?
LG Pro 2 - Don't know as much about this - so not sure if this meets needs better
Anything else that I'm missing? I think it probably is between the Samsung and the Nexus but am open to arguments for others...
Thanks,
bg
