Any current VZW GN owner here considering the VZW Moto RAZR MAXX HD($299) for sale next week?

Not looking to trade my GN for a Motorola device. Love having free reign on my device to load many ROMs and everything else. Motorola still is behind in this in many ways. I like getting the latest Android OS.

I don't think I would leave my Nexus for any phone out there right now. Maybe, just maybe, for a free Galaxy S III (shameless plug for the current contest lol) but I don't think I would buy a new phone right now. Still loving my Galaxy Nexus too much

I'm leaving the iPhone for an android phone. I looked at the Maxx HD, SG3, and the Nexus. What makes the nexus special? I'm not a huge technical person. I just want a phone that surfs and communicates well.

The Nexus is a "pure Google experience" in that the operating system is stock. The other phones have a version of android. Still android, but not as Google intended. The Nexus is also the only one of these phones with jelly bean. And, if you are interested in rooting, the Nexus has an unlockable bootloader.

I think I get it. Other phones like moto and Samsung take the original thought and put their own spin on it? What is rooting? Boat loader? Sorry I'm not that up to speed b/c of the iSheep past.

Rooting is essentially hacking your phone so you can change core operations. Dmmarck is the man when it comes to the Galaxy Nexus. His don't panic guide and the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy Nexus is very very informative

There is no phone out right now that I would choose over my Nexus.
I don't care how long the battery lasts since I can charge it whenever I want. The only thing I liked about the SG3 that the Nexus didn't have was the pop-up player, but I have super video installed which is essentially the same app.
I hated the Nexus camera when I first got it, but now it seems to take better pics, especially when I apply the bitrate mod.

I'm somewhat intrigued by it... for the large battery capacity and water resistant feature....

I bought my 2nd GN and it should still be within the 14-day return period by next week.
(well.. I'll only get a $50 VZW gift card back because that's how I paid it...)

No, but that is because I have major issues paying top dollar for a phone Motorola considers to be a top of the line, yet insists upon using an old OS.

Shame on Google for not having their own company use the current OS!

No Motorola for me. I don't like the software or the look of the phone at all. When I had to get my nexus replaced they tried to offer me a normal razr instead and I had to laugh a little.

The only phones right now that could get me off the nexus are the s3 or note 2. Not even the new LG nexus in the works could replace this phone. Everything about it is perfect for me, except some connection issues, but they are few and far between.
