Any EB13 Users get the OTA update to EC05? Post here!

I have spent tons of time checking this forum and waiting for the OTA.
Decided to do the ODIN method below, even though I read 1 bad comment/experience and many good...it worked great, had to do it twice and all my data is there and I'm still rooted

I got tired of waiting as well and Odin back to DI18. EC05 downloaded right after that, but the update bricked my phone... Way to go, SS.

yes, that is normal. i thought that was a problem too, but it isn't.
how many bars of signal do you have when you are doing the update (PRL or Profile)?
try calling sprint and have them do a data reset (##3282# and you'll need your MSL). this isn't wiping out any data on your phone, it is re-provisioning your data config or something like that)

I have EB13 and have not received the EC05 update on two phones that were updated by update.zip method. I do not want to lose all the data on my phones and I want to to update. I don't care about roms, flashing, kernels and rooting and really don't understand what those things are. I just want the updated OS. How do I proceed? Is there a method?

My phone along with these guys (dmv01 as well) also errors out on the PRL and profile as well.
If I try to update my firmware, PRL, or profile I get the same generic error. The good news is I'm not alone. The bad news is I'm not alone.
I am still on EB13, which I moved to by using the update.zip when it was released. Seems like my only recourse is going to be to update via this odin method. I'm starting to be frustrated with updates on Android. Everything about android to me is surperior to Apple/iphone except updates. The update process on android is horrible. After reading different forums for different phones and carriers it just seems like a problem across the board.
There is too much of a mystery over updates. Some people blame the carriers, some the manufacturers. I don't know who to blame but this is horrible BS.
Monday, March 28 at noon EDT and no update. I have EB 13 and I'm not rooted. I find this very upsetting. I am a big Sprint booster and have bought 6 or 7 Samsung phones over the years. I am not a happy camper.

At the risk of asking a dumb question, why are you clamoring to get EC05?
I'm on EB13 as well, and I'm trying to decide if I care or not about getting this upgrade. I'm leaning toward not caring, because Sprint ID, I could take or leave. I've got my Froyo (app2sd, bluetooth voice dialing, etc.), so I'm happy.
Some of us want to know that our phone is going to be supported and that we don't have to be left behind on updates or have to take care of things manually. I deal with hardware problems all day long and the last thing I want to do is tinker with a phone. The phone is nice but Android updates are terrible.
By the way, have you ever tried the sport mode on your camera? It's a known "force crash" on EB13 that is resolved with EC05.
It isn't this one update. I have no idea if I will like Sprint ID or not. When I bought the phone I was promised an update and it was very late and I had to manually install it becuase Sprint, Samsung, Google whoever screwed up. Now I'm told I'm getting an update and it doesn't come again. This should never ever happen and on this phone, it's happened twice!!.
I'm a simple man, I've been with Sprint for over 13 years. I pay my bill on time and follow the rules. I have bought 6 or 7 Samsung phones including the Instinct, the Moment and now the Epic. I'm a good client I expect good service. I'm not getting it. This is what upsets me.
Evo 3D coming out. HTC seems to be on the ball with Customer Service. Im thinking on making that switch.
Better response than mine and I share your opinion. I just want support for a product that I bought and was told I'd get updates for.
Depends. I had an HTC hero and it was dropped for updates 6 months after release. HTC has much better software (IMO) but they are no better for updates. You'll be waiting and waiting and it's a surprise to whether or not you get an update or not.
I was happy with EB13 also, but I still wanted the latest software. I went back to DI18, and it prompted me for an update about 5 minutes after. Sprint ID is just another icon in my list of apps as far as I'm concerned, I don't use it.
I don't blame Samsung, I blame Sprint! I also think it's absolutely ridiculous that we have so many Epic users with the same phone, from the same provider, and different software! Someone needs to get it together!!
I like that swype a lot better than my current Epic keyboard. the keys seem not to press very well or at least i feel like im pressing them well but still cuts some letters.
IDK if anyone else has that problem.
