Dallas, TX. Finally looked on here to see if EB13 would upgrade automatically or would i have to go back and try it form Enclair or zip file install it again - and saw the install an app from the market trick and it worked like a charm! Thank all of you for being here

now im waiting to see if i lost everything like in the EB13 or if its just a minor update so i keep everything.

UPDATE: did not lose anything. witch is great.

Went App Market and did an update to my apps. I got the Install notice for EC05 within a minute. YAY... finally.

Installed in <10 minutes and rebooted just fine. This is great... EC05 - finally.

1:45 PM Pacific time, just got the update. I was just about to do the Odin thing which I was nervous about. Maybe next time. Looking forward to Gingerbread. I believe... it will take a long time. LOL

Got mine too -- right after updating a couple apps in Market. So much for the post (and repost after repost) about the Sprint Rep telling the poster we would NOT get an EB13 - EC05 update. (I never doubted -- we've learned time after time that most of the Sprint reps have no clue).

I clicked on to install and it's all done.

Was on EB13. now on EC05 OTA.

I was a EB13 user and I was just upgraded to EC05 through OTA. Everything seems to be working fine and much quicker than before.

So as someone mentioned earlier when I first got my update notification, I rushed and pushed "install", my phone rebooted, and I got an error (exclamation point and android robot)... I then tried to reboot again and it took me to a ClockworkMod screen, which reminded me "hey dummy, you're rooted"... I'm guessing (but not sure) that this is why my update failed... perhaps being on EB13 and being rooted was my downfall...

So after a few attempts at rebooting (my phone finally started acting cool again and rebooted with no problems), I checked and saw that I was still on EB13... I finally bit the bullet and used the method of updating to EC05 listed here, which allows you to update without losing data.

Ultimately, I knew that this method was available all along (well for a few days anyway) since I saw it announced a little while ago. I guess I just wanted to see if it was still possible for my phone to get an update notification since it had been SO LONG since I had seen one... plus, I wanted to prove that you can still get them even if you update the manual way and are rooted. Using the method listed, I was able to retain my root (Titanium Backup still works and still has super user rights) AND all my data is intact (all my apps are working and the data is still there, with no loss of my Angry Birds progress )... so to anyone else that is out there experiencing the same problem, check to see if you are rooted (if you aren't sure or **forgot** like me), and feel free to use the method linked from our super AC Epic community.

I am now happy to say that I am STILL rooted, still a Titanium Backup user, and now on EC05... thanks to Paul627g and whoever else helped develop this awesome and super easy (less than 5 minutes) method of updating sans OTA...

YEP! Just got my update after downloading an app from the market! EB13 to EC05...rebooting now. Hope it works!

Just got my update OTA from EB13 to EC05 after doing a couple of market updates as well. Installed in only a few minutes and seems to be working fine.

Just got my update as well a cpl hours ago while updating apps from market, installed it and noticed hudge battery drain, installed juicedefender to try out but come to find out i have to be rooted for it to work its full potential. Any one know of this program working when rooted. Dont wanna root if it doesnt work.

Got my update about an hour ago. I had been on the manually installed EB13 from the Samsung site. Videocamera function is now smooth, once again. My phone had been reset via Sprint Advanced Tech Support this morning (for other issues) and they it checked for the update at that time but it said my phone was up to date. I had re-downloaded all of my apps this morning...no prompt for the update. However, it finally popped up on my screen shortly after I had downloaded a new app from the market. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with getting prompted for the update or not, I'm just happy to have it. Hopefully some of my other issues my phone was having will be fixed in this update. *crosses fingers*

I got my ota update from eb to ec after also downloading an app from the market. Installed smooth. No probs so far. I'll download an app on my wife's epic when she gets home to see if that jump starts the ota upgrade for her too.
