Any faith left for sprint

that's it?.... I don't mean to bash, it looks like an improvement on sprint's part, but that still looks like on the low end of what I get with tmobile now

And I don't mean to praise tmobile altogether either. One of my buddies with verizon (on their XLTE network) in chicago got close to 95 mbps the other day (which is a lot faster than whatever I've gotten with tmobile)

For a 5x5 network band, that's actually twice as good than T-Mobile lol, which is in 10x10 and 20x20.... Kina sad. Yea, I just had a taste of Spark the other day and it blew T-Mobile out of the water.......consistently ;-)

I really give those who continue to support Sprint props. Myself as I said before in this thread I'm less than 2 months away from pulling the plug after about 9-10 years with Sprint. Maybe they will make a change but I can't wait around any longer hoping on some more pipe dreams that it will one day be a stable network.

While you guys talk Sprint Spark and all the goodness I sit south of Chicago and walk out my front door and struggle to even lock into 3g.

It's not a chore to support SPRINT! They have the best service and prices!

I suggest you go with what works. Sprints network is obviously better in some places than others. I'm off contract, and thinking about going to ATT. But if spark shows up soon in the Boston area I'll reconsider

LOL, I'll take that with a grain of salt. To some folks sure they have awesome coverage. But sadly to a majority its not that way and Sprint knows it.

Anyhow thanks for the comment :D

This is true, but many rather have unlimited data and better prices.

A chore is to consistently put your Sprint Moto X in Airplane mode to help with or insure the 3G to 4G handoff. Did that for 3 months before I said goodbye to Sprint.

He just said he struggles for 3g so how can you tell him they have the best service? It's obviously not for him and his area.

That's kind of blind loyalty... It's all good to like a carrier but just to always recommend it even if it's bad for someone isn't good advice for the forums. Carriers are very area dependent and what might be good for you.. Could be bad for someone else.

After 13 years on Sprint said goodbye and off to Cricket! Bought my wife a Moto G at their store for $100 and have a Nexus 5 on the way for me by Friday! Freedom!

Surprisingly I'll be leaving T-Mobile soon to help the gf (going to Verizon for coverage and her bill will be lowered). We don't travel much but I hate when we are on the road and have Edge data and she can't do Facebook.... That is the one downside to T-Mobile.. When you're outside of major cities they are bad.

As for speeds though my area has picked up for T-Mobile... And no not everywhere for T-Mobile is 20x20 ;).

Thanks. I should be okay.. I just have to get used to caching (she only uses like 1.5 GB a month) .. But to make it better for her and for her to pay a good 20-25 a month less.. It's worth it. I just have to adjust myself lol.

Haha I don't do that on average. I was trying :D.

I average 40 to 80 GB a month but that was mainly music and videos... All which if not lazy I could cache via my home wifi :).

10 GB shared. Girlfriend uses 1-1.5 GB on average (the most she's ever used in a month was like 2.3ish) so it won't be bad. I'll download all my Google playlist and just copy movies to SD card.. Be good to go.

Honestly majority of my usage is at work... Outside of work I use pretty much nothing. From what I've seen on weekends I average about 50 MB through the whole weekend.. Lol :D.

Exactly one of my points from above... the "unlimited mentality" = lazy/abusive. People stop using WiFi, stop loading music on their phones, stream everything, don't care about letting things just run even when not used, and generally do things that suck the network completely dry. So it gets to a point the network is garbage.... congested with tons of nonsense.

Don't get me wrong- I very much oppose limits/measured/overages on landline ISP (cable modems/etc) because they don't have anywhere near the limitation that wireless does. And although I am not terribly happy about it on wireless, I can see why it is done (beyond just being a money grab).

honestly, i don't even think it'll hit tmobile that hard. tmobile has a fiber optic backhaul.

from what i've read is that most of sprint's network is running on a T1 connection.

It's an apples to orange comparison.

You act is if this is a utility we're talking about. Water is limited, energy is limited, natural gas is limited, yet network bandwidth, however, is unlimited.

The backhaul is only one part of the network. A lot of the problem is the overloading of the tower. There is a set amount of limited frequencies total, and what the carrier is allowed to use, and X number of people it has to support within a given cell- all fighting for resources.

Blech

Landline bandwidth is unlimited but radio bandwidth is not. However, it can be managed some by adding more towers in a given area, but there is a practical limit on that, too (not to mention they are very expensive).

I used to bad mouth Sprint as well and going from at&t to sprint to vetizon back to at&t back to verizon and then aprint. I realize something. They all have their issues. Either its At&t with god quality service for data but calls sucked and price overblown or Verizon too expensive and their caveats to their plans.

Yes Sprint speeds are not the greates but do you have to worry about data and paying extra. Do you have to purchase your phone ro keep your data. I realize most of the time im on wifi and my LTE speeds are decent. They all have their issues and the strengths.
