Any faith left for sprint

Yeah so far (Only a week) with T-Mobile I've found the call clarity to be pretty darn good.. I can't tell any difference from when I was on Sprint before....

I also can't tell any difference in voice quality between Sprint and T-Mobile.
When on Sprint, I never had any issues with call drops, but constant data issues and text messaging issues were normal.
Haven't had any dropped calls on T-Mobile either, but I don't make but about one call a week, anyway :)

but so far I'm very impressed with T-Mobile....

I have been extremely happy with everything about T-Mobile so far, EXCEPT being text spammed by them, which is infuriating and I wrote multiple letters to their support and corporate offices about it. (Sprint never did such crap). They say they "can't" turn it off, which is utter bull-crap. They "can" and choose not to.

OMG Data and Text issues.... Their network was just soooo slow.. and the number of times I got the "Unable to send message try again?" was so annoying.... I knew AT&T was a lot better because of friends who smoked me but their data limits worried me... I was with Sprint since 1997 (and actually my account is still open with my wife's line) and I just kept listening to the hype of what they were "GOING TO DO" they had me with WiMax, LTE, Network Vision and I gave up on waiting on Spark.....

but constant data issues and text messaging issues

have not run into this yet..... So far the only text messages I've received from T-Mobile were the welcome to T-Mobile, Thank you for funding your account and your number has been successfully ported over messages the first day... Nothing since...

The future can't happen soon enough. I've been with sprint for 5 or 6 years. I'm willing to give then until the end of the year.

I live in Dallas and they announced Dallas as one of the FIRST LTE markets and we still don't have speeds like this... There are spots downtown Dallas and Fort Worth but all the suburbs (where most work stiffs live) It's spotty from one block to the next..... Dallas was also announced as a SPARK city and I've not really seen Spark like speeds anywhere and I had all my bands turned on...

I waited two long years on WiMax and 2 long years for LTE.... So far T-Mobile just has better saturation and easily ten times better speeds in all the places I live, work and play vs Sprint...

Turning on you bands manually doesn't grant you automatic access to Spark lol...
Anyway, I'm currently with Sprint and I can attest that 3G has gotten real good (obviously nothing like Att or T-Mobile's 3G) but very good, LTE has stronger and more coverage each month, and even though I don't have Spark yet on my N5, I have experienced it and its amazing. Can't wait for next year were speeds will double and then triple with all the new spectrum, as well as coverage.

Oh, I forgot to mention, HD voice is ridiculous good! The clarity, wow....
I just heard Att this morning announcing it too, but Sprint already has it in many places with a nation wide rollout by June.

Just wait.

You will get extremely annoying sales crap whenever they feel like it and a message EVERY time your damn bill is coming due and EVERY time a payment is posted. It is totally unacceptable that there is no opt out from this type of thing. NO other company has ever done this to me.

Well seems Sprint works great where you live... It stinks here.. when your LTE speeds top out around 4 - 6 Mbps and are usually in the 1 - 2 range it's not worth it..... (now 1 - 2 Mbps and 4 - 6 top end is much much better than a year ago... when top out was 1 - 2 and you rarely even got an LTE signal)

I only average 80 - 90 minutes per month talk but so far I can't tell a difference at all in voice clarity from Sprint last week and T-Mobile this week. I have not had one dropped call yet and not once have I had a retry text message error which I got at least a dozen times a week with Sprint..

I waited way too long for them to get better.. Glad it's great where you live.... but not where I do and I really do wish it was...

It ain't that bad. I get 1 text a month when I pay the bill. Other than that.. That's it.

If you're getting more check with support. I am sure they can turn all that off if you want.

I get a minimum of 2. I HAVE talked to support, and the store, and corporate. They claim they "can't" turn it off.

What are the messages for? I know you can also get them if you use up your data allowance or subscribe to any of their promotions

"Government's Lifeline program offers [...]"

"Your bill payment is coming due [...]"

"Payment for $X posted to your account [...]"

Rinse and repeat.

Hmmmm... I got my first one yesterday since I signed up.. It said I didn't have an email address set up in my profile.. I logged in and went to my profile and my email address was right there under email address and it's the email address I've been using for years...

Hopefully this isn't the start of T-Mobile spam text....

Crxssi the payment ones are definitely normal... The other ones though (such as the lifeline program offer) you can opt out of. (see below)

Question... did you switch from another carrier to T-Mobile? I switched over from Sprint of course and my battery life has gone to $hit since I made the switch.. I use to be able to go from 6 am - 6 pm and still have 25% battery life.. Since I made the switch to T-Mobile my battery life has now gone from 100% at 6 am to 44% at 10 am... and I have to almost keep my Nexus 5 on the charger constantly or I'll be dead in the water.. Happened to me on Saturday too.. I took it off the charger at 9 am and at noon I was at just below 50% by 2:30 in the afternoon I was down to under 20% hunting for a power source..... Have not seen battery life this horrible since my EVO 4G on WiMax.......

Oh and thanks for the screen shots.. I went online to my account to opt out but the fine print after I opted out is kind of counter productive..

Is your cell signal as good as it was on Sprint? I have no issues with battery life on T-Mo either.

ten times better with T-Mobile vs Sprint.. Exactly why I decided to make the switch... I was out of contract finally and was sick of no service with Sprint where I live, work and play the most..... I did have to do a factory reset of my phone to get it to pick up the T-Mobile service correctly.... Hoping over time the battery life will return to normal but so far nothing is really out of the ordinary in my battery menu/usage... but with NO signal half the day on Sprint and a good LTE connection with T-Mobile my battery is just dying rapidly now...

Yeah, that shouldn't be happening. Have you tried wiping the cache partition in recovery?

Yes I was on AT&T for awhile till they started caps.. Which meant they throttled people on unlimited. I went to Sprint for awhile after that since I wanted unlimited but found my speeds to be as bad as dial up most of the time... So then switched to T-Mobile and all is well in the world.

Although I will switch to Verizon one day for the coverage once I stop being a data hog lol.

Yeah that's them basically saying you'll still get text messages for bills and such.. But nothing for the marketing part.. Like them announcing tablets at wifi prices etc.
