I am sooo tempted to root my Evo 3D. I have not done it yet. It must be easy with the HTC root tool. I think I am on 1.5 so I don't really gots a choice.

But I think we will be seeing the update pretty soon. With Sprint releasing a new flagship phone in the coming days and the fact last week they updated their crapware...It all points in that direction anyways! I hope we do see a good performance increase. Would be nice!

I'm too lazy and scared to truly root my phone. I failed many times on getting HBOOT 1.5 downgraded to 1.4. Ugh.

I hope they release the ICS update soon.

I have a few high level connects with our partnership with Sprint. They tell us rough launch dates.

I won't get my hopes up for the 15th. I will wait to hear something a bit more solid.

It will probably release after the HTC EVO 4G LTE is released. So more people will buy the new EVO.

Even if they did release the new phone after the update to the Evo 3D you still get Sense 4.0...I think we are only getting 3.6 for the time being. Good thought but wouldn't make any sense (No pun intended!) for their customer base. When even Samsung seems to be on par with updates so far. Normally sammy doesn't update anything! ><

Samsung had problems updating only one series of phones.. the original galaxy s... Now everybody thinks Samsung is terrible with updates.. Samsung is now on top of updates.. if i had to choose between HTC and Samsung.. I would choose HTC.. I've had an original epic 4G... Very laggy.. I've had a nexus s 4G.. laggy.. plus in my opinion.. super amoled reminds me of staring at a video game 24/7.. I have a 3D now.. used to have the EVO 4G.. I can honesty say the og EVO is WAAAAYYYY better than the nexus s.. and even the galaxy s 2 lags more than the EVO 3D.. the epic 4G touch is the only galaxy s device I would consider

This kind of thinking is what is dangerous for the companies. Any new customer or existing customers who used their upgrade to get the 3D can't get the new phone at a good price so what's the point of this?

I am rooted and currently running kushdecks latest ICS ROM. Ics is a very good software and leaves me not missing sense. The camera doesn't work yet, but I barely use it. If your not rooted give it a shot and try out this rom.

I keep thinking it won't come until summer, but that'd be a very bad choice on Sprint's/HTC's part.

When new people who do need to upgrade can get the EVO 3D with the same software as the EVO 4g lte at most likely at least $100 cheaper...
