Hi,

I know it's early to ask, but are there any information, that the S5 could receive an update to Android 7.0 ? I am running on Android 6.01 and hope for an update to 7.0, is it possible and probable that the S5 with get another major OS update?

The Galaxy S5 will probably not be receiving an official Samsung update to Nougat, Android 7.0, much in the same way that the Galaxy S4 has not received an official Samsung Marshmallow, Android 6.0.1, update.

This is the time that some users will choose to root their phone's and flash, say, the Nexus like, custom ROM such as CyanogenMod for the S5 on Nougat when it is released. This will receive all the latest security updates from Google. I have a 5.5 year old Samsung Galaxy S2 on Marshmallow by using CyanogenMod.

I understand the Snapdragon 801 to be the reason why the S5 will not see Nougat 7.0. The processor it's self from Qualcomm doesn't have proper support.
Even the Sony Experia Z3, which was a target subject for beta testing will not be updated for the same reason.

Can I use Android Pay on a CyanogenMod?

I really think this is a disappointment, seeing apples iphone 5 will be receiving iOS 10 I don't know why Samsung can't do the same???

Yes, apple provided iOS 10 to iPhone 5 and newer, Im not fanboy, I like iOS and Android and use both. On my iPhone 6 there is iOS 10 and it runs as smooth as iOS 8 which it shipped with. All apps in App Store run very smooth and os too. Lag is very rare. I hope Samsung would do same on its flagship phones, I don't think their phones are so slow that they can't run newest Android version smoothly without lag. And if they are they need to fix it.

Apple seem to refine there phones and software so well... Where as most android phones lag... I have a galaxy S5 on 6.0 too (rooted) and I will be going to cyanogenmod 7.0
