Will OTAs still work? I have some spare time tonight so may try.

I know it's an "official" update, but I'm not "officially" enrolled in the beta test. Just want to make sure it's not a one way street here.

I will have the Note 6 with Android N before the update comes it seems anyway to my Note 5.

I agree - I'm getting the Note 6 once it's out as well. Just wondering if whatever is purportedly "wrong" with this update (that originated in Feb 2016...) will be able to OTA on non-beta devices. I don't really care at this point, just going to flash and pray I guess.

Re: Any news on MM note 5 AT&T??

I updated via the XDA method. I'm 100% sure the build there is what's going to OTA soon. It has May 1, 2016 security updates and the kernel is dated 5/16/16, so it's brand new.

Fully reset and up and running. Knox not tripped. This is great. Wasn't hard, just connect, "adb sideload ota.zip" and off you go. The file came directly from AT&T's servers, so it's fully legit. This isn't the beta version, this is the OTA that's set to go out. I have no proof but so far it is perfect. Flies.

Re: Any news on MM note 5 AT&T??

Doesnt this put me in a pickle. Since it is the official OTA update, with a May 2016 security patch, then clearly AT&T is planning on releasing it. So patience, will likely get me the OTA via OTA any day now. But... I could take the time and go to XDA and get it today....hmmmmmm decisions, decisions.

Re: Any news on MM note 5 AT&T??

I wouldn't mind doing the MM update from XDA. But I'm afraid I will mess it up lol

Do it. I'm positive this is the OTA that's sitting on AT&T servers just ready to go out. Some guy found it early. It's great and really flawless. This isn't the old Feb beta. Its fresh out of coding. Last kernel development was 72 hours ago. This is it.

I would like to do the update but I am not techy enough. I screwed up an LG once trying to root it..

I understand the apprehension, but it's really as easy as typing "adb sideload ota.zip". Obviously you need an adb environment set up first and need to rename the file to whatever.zip but outside of that, it's really foolproof.

what is and adb environment?

Re: Any news on MM note 5 AT&T??

Is there a downside to it? Does it trip Knox or void warranty?

From my AT&T Note 5 paired with my larger Asus Zenwatch 2

Zero downsides. Doesn't trip or void anything. The update is direct from AT&T servers. You just manually load it vs having an OTA process load it.
