Given that this is an Android portal, it's perhaps no surprise that pretty much everyone in the AC community is using an Android-based device, usually a smartphone, but also tablets and others.

However, I have an interesting question. Since there are other platforms out there, what other platforms do you use on a regular basis?

Aside from my phone, which has always been Android-powered since 2011 (2011 phone not pictured), my tablet has always been on iOS on the iPads, more recently the iPad Pro 12.9, currently on iOS 9.3.2. I also use Windows on my main computer, and Mac OS X on my other computer for editing and other creative stuff.

What do you guys use?

Right now i have a poor old vista windows laptop (which i tried to upgrade to windows 10 and lagged horribly)
A 2011 macbook air for school
A 2010 windows PC for gaming
An Ipad 4 for youtube and browsing
And S6 edge as my trusty phone
(They are all hands down from my family to me)

Began using android from 2012 ( if i remember it was the first samsung tab that runs android)
Began using OSX from 2014
Began using ios 1 year ago

My back up phone is a Nokia 640lte running Windows 10 and my PC has Windows 7.

Posted via the Android Central App on my ZTE Zmax 2

I am split 50-50 between Google and apple.
I have two macbook Pros, one a work computer and the other for home/play. I have both computers however set up with the google ecosystem for personal use. The work mac is set up with Safari and my work related sites all bookmarked. I like Safari for work its so fast and efficient.

I have an iPhone 5C that still works fine, I watch youtube videos on it. The small screen doesn't really bother me that much. I keep it as a backup to my LGV10 or my wifes 6S+

Thinking about adding a chromebook too... no big hurry though. Google (Chrome, drive, gmail...etc) on a macbook runs great.

Windows 10 for PC (gaming rig) and an iPad Air 2 I got the gf.

MacBook pro
iMac
iPad

and a PC only for my business QuickBooks program. I have no love for PCs/Windows based machines so I'm all Apple except for my phone.

Galaxy S7 Edge (main phone)
HTC 10 (main phone #2)
Note 4 (backup phone)
iPhone 5s (work phone)
iPad Pro 12.9 (main tablet)
iPad Air (work tablet)
Dell laptop Windows 10 (home pc I hardly use)

I MISS MY BLACKBERRY Q10 (that was in all caps to show my passion; but it might not post as such. ;))

I use a Windows laptop, and I have a BlackBerry PlayBook that I love!

Beside my Android devices, I have:
  1. PC running Windows 8.1 Pro
  2. PC dual booting Windows 8.1 Pro/Linux Mint
  3. PC running Lubuntu

Very interesting thread.

I use Windows 8.1 on my HP Pavilion laptop.
As for my phones, I have an iPhone SE, Lumia 640 (currently on Windows 10 Insider; my former daily driver), Lumia 435 (also on Windows 10; used for music) and I have been trying various Android devices. My SIM gets the most movement between my SE and whatever device I am trying at the moment. Most recently, I have tried the Nextbit Robin and I'm now trying the Sony Xperia Z3 (locked to T-Mo).

I have an ASUS laptop with a dysfunctional charger with win 7 and a DELL one running win 10. For work I have the ideapad on win 7. Have the oldie Zenfone 4 (2014) as my alarm clock and the iPhone SE as my primary. I am also getting a Moto X (2014) tomorrow for additional screen. I also used to have an iPad (1st Gen) but gave it to my bro. Looking forward to have a Nokia this 2016 or early 2017 hehehe

Probably going to add a Chromebook later this year also.

If you comsider ps3 to be a software platform of some kind, then I use that for gaming. I have a windows 10 laptop which is ok.

This is a really interesting thread discussion... thanks!!

For those of you with Chromebooks, or those who are also thinking about getting one. Is the android phone + chromebook pairing similar to the Windows phone + Windows PC or iPhone + MAC experience?

I have been running the google ecosystem on my macs and I am very happy with it, until I try and connect my LGV10 to the MAC with the USB cable. Thats when everything generally crashes. Apple OSx CLEARLY doesn't like it when you plug an android phone into a macbook.

So when you plug an Android phone into a chromebook, what happens? Does the phone show up as an external/USB drive... with file structure and file names? Or does it do something else entirely?

thanks!!
