any security updates?

While maybe they're not monthly, Verizon is one of the better carriers (dare I say best carrier) for Android security patches for the first year of a "flagship" device's life.

Has not been my experience at all.

To be fair, my first android phone on Verizon (or any carrier for that matter) was the Note 7 so who knows if i should have expected any updates with that. So far with the S8+ my last security patch was April 1st 2017

Why worry about a security update. unless your always on public networks downloading from unknown sources.

Huh? Security updates don't just patch things that can only be done via a public network .

I miss the days of my PRIV getting security updates before Nexus devices... heh.

Yup, newest update on the S8 (June 7/8) updates something on Bixby (don't know what, still looks the same to me and still no voice) and updates the security patch to May, so we're still a month behind, but at least it's being updated.
