OK so im new to android with the HTC Evo. I have been very happy with the Evo. but from the beginning the arrows on the bottom of the portrait, and the right side of the landscape keyboard were bothering me. Ive never used them, and they just feel out of place, specially in landscape.

But I want to keep the HTC keyboard, so i figured if there was a way to get the Incredible keyboard installed, then my problem would be solved. any help would be appreciated.

Just go to the market and check out all the free downloadable keyboards they have. I would think the Incredible and EVO Keyboards are pretty similar since they are both basically the same HTC device, using basically the same Android 2.1 and the same Sense UI over layed.... The only main difference is 3.7 inch screen and a 4.3 inch screen. So I am sure there are some slight modifications.... Try Googling "Droid Incredible Keyboard" and see if you get some links to some downloads.....

I just installed the new beta swype and after ten texts or so and the tutorial I'm twice as fast as my incredible keyboard.

Without the arrow keys, how do you navigate within text on the Evo, which has no trackball or other physical keys?

Check out this thread over at XDA Developers (sorry for an non-AC link guys lol)

[App] HTC_IME Mod v27 for EVO - xda-developers

Apparently someone else didn't want the arrows either...

Thanks a lot for the link. Works perfect, no arrows and some extras.

Well I really don't have to navigate around my text much, but when I do, I just tap where I need to go and that works just fine.
