Any way to get ongoing visual notification for messages and missed calls?

Just got the S21 Ultra and, except for the battery life, I'm wishing I was back with my Note 5. Hoping this is just until I'm used to it, but I find it frustrating to get simple settings the way I want them.

How can I get ongoing visual notification that I have a message or that I missed a call? I set up the edge light-up notification, but that seems to be a one-time thing when the message comes in. I have neither the time nor the desire to sit there and stare at my phone all day to watch for messages. The color coded blinking LED on the Note 5 was great... caught my attention immediately when I glanced in the direction of my phone. I now find myself having to turn on the screen every time I think of it to see if there's a message waiting.

I feel like I must be missing something obvious... how can I set up an ongoing visual notification for messages or missed calls?

Thanks!

Can you show some screenshots how you have edge notifications?

LOL, this is one of my main gripes about my new S21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sure hope there is a viable solution out there. I cannot believe they would get rid of the notification light. What WERE they thinking???

Go to Settings>Accessibility>Advanced settings>Flash notification. Here you can turn on the camera flash as a notification tool and/or the screen. What they do is pretty self-explanatory but JIC FYI. Flash notification makes your camera flash for calls and notifications and the screen setting does the same for the screen. Both are really bright, work with reminders and are hard to miss. They're built into the phone so there's nothing to install. They are meant to act as notifications so there's nothing to set up. I'm pretty sure you can use Bixby to change their settings. So if the light going off at night bothers you, you can use Bixby to create a routine where these settings are only on during the day.

Best wishes
