Any way to type in your what you're searching for?

Is it just me or is the voice search on the nexus 9 pretty much useless. Today I tried to voice search "ABC NEWS" in the Google store and the first result came back as "hey BC news" and the second time if came back as "A BBC NEWS", after a third attempt it finally got it right.

Is there any way that you can type in your searches? I downloaded the remote control app and tried entering a search using the keyboard but still no go.

Pressing left works I think. Or if it was right. I have issues with voice search as well and that's how I get to type instead

(BTW, I meant the nexus player, not nexus 9)
