Anybody considering the Razr Maxx?

With Seidio coming out with a 3800MaH battery soon (almost twice the extended Verizon battery) the only downsides to the Nexus (for me) are the Camera (somewhat mitigated by alternative camera apps) and the signal in certain areas (hopefully fixed in a updated ROM).

Other people have reported other issues, but battery/camera/signal are the only ones i've seen mentioned by an overwhelming number of people. Personally, I love it.

Except that Seidio battery is fugly.

F MOTO, i think its BS how quickly they put out a 1-up phone to the predecessor. First Bionic then 2 months later RAZR, and now 2 months later MAXX. I get that newer phones come out quicker these days, but the way MOTO does it sucks and is gonna piss people off.

I don't get it. So you're saying they should slow down on putting out better phones?

I think better is a relative term. The only difference between the RAZR and the Maxx is the battery. Other than that they pretty much the same thing as the Bionic. At least in my opinion that is not an improved phone.

Well, I've had the Maxx now for about 24 hours. I made lunch today for myself and my wife. We had finished eating and she got up to get another cup of coffee and asked if I wanted more coffee. I said "sure" and when she went to pour the coffee into my cup, which was sitting directly next to the new maxx, she looked away for a second and instead of pouring the coffee into the cup, she poured it right smack on top of the new Maxx.

I jumped up and grabbed a paper towel and immediately wiped the coffee off the phone. So far it seems to be OK but I'll give it another 24 hours to see if it stays that way. Luckily, I have insurance so it won't make a difference either way but I couldn't believe seeing coffee being poured all over the new phone!

Worst case scenario is I have the Nexus to use for a backup in case the phone ends up dying a slow wet death.

5 minutes with the Razr is enough for most people to walk away after using a gnex.

That's interesting. That is pretty much what I did when the RAZR was released. I looked at it, held it, played with it for a bit and decided to wait for the Nexus.

Walk away from the RAZR maybe.

I had a RAZR for about a month before the Nexus came out. The RAZR is a great phone. But I just couldn't deal with the locked bootloader, grainy screen, and weird coloring.

The nexus is about a millions times better in every aspect. (Except battery maybe)

Once you get used to the 720p SAMOLED screen, it's really hard to look at anything else.

That's what I meant.. was I not clear? lol

Yes walk the hell away.

lol. The RAZR looks like a nice phone. The build quality seems amazing. However, I don't like the screen, the locked bootloader, and the fact it looks like a steamroller ran over a plastic coffin.

Thank your lucky stars it has the splash coating. If it didn't freak out yet, you're probably golden.

I wish I knew how to boot load and unlock and put the leaked updates on the Gnex... the battery sucks as it is right now. But I would trade for the Razr Maxx . I had the first one but returned it because the battery was horrific

Wished you knew how to bootload and unlock? Then wish no more cause the way how to do it is here. That's how I did mine. Oh, and you're welcome. :D

As for battery life, try investing in one (if not, two) extended batteries. (Or the humongous 3800mah seidio one) Hehe
