I received my Pixel XL2 today and literally have zero blue shift. Coming from a Note 8 the screen colors definitely do not pop but I know it's deliberate and can be fixed with a software update. Other than that the software is absolutely amazing and the screen colors do not bother me and they do create less fatigue. Display is definitely warmer than the Note 8 but it's a very nice screen.

When you try the camera, listen to the speakers and see how smart this phone is you'll be as amazed as I am. Definitely the best phone I've ever used.

Welcome to Android Central. I definitely agree with your last sentence. There are plenty of great people here to get you over any speed-bumps you may have with your new device.

Have some co-workers that I checked there's out and the blue tint wasn't noticable really at all. I wouldn't have thought twice about having one as my own. Loving the s8 but the pixel 2 XL looked pretty sweet to me

Just got mine today, and I am pleased with the screen. I do have some blue tint, but only at an angle that I would never use the phone at, so no worries there for me.

I have the blue tint as well. I also had it on my Galaxy S7 but never noticed it. Maybe because the screen is bigger on the XL, but it doesn't bother me.

I have the blue tint, but I don't use my phone like that so it's fine. I saw a tiny bit of image retention but I had to look really hard.

The colors took some getting used to but now I love the screen and the phone. Literally everything about it. The form factor, the battery life, and the software. everything is so smooth. I'm keeping mine for sure.

No problems here either. I actually really like the more realistic colors on this screen, they look less cartoon-like than other phones I've had. Not to mention I get through 24 hours of use with a still decent 25% left in the battery.

I do have the blue tint issue and it is very noticeable on white backgrounds, however after using it for a few days I barely notice it, otherwise the screen is really nice. The "muted" colors are a non issue for me I much prefer this over the supersaturated displays.

Having said that, if Google does announce that there is an issue and they have to swap out phones with a corrected display, I would definitely do that. I still think that most people are overreacting especially the ones who complain and bash Google and they don't even have a Pixel 2 XL yet.

I only have the smaller 2, but yeah, no issues really, just blue-tint on off angles. I've never used a screen that had such deep blacks and I guess "muted" colors, and I don't know if it's the honeymoon phase of a new device or what, but I'm absolutely digging the **** out of it. The whole software, especially when in dark mode (using a dark background makes the notification shade & app drawer blacked out), really looks awesome. My twitter app Fenix just upgraded to Fenix 2 and its dark theme is beautiful, so is Pocket Casts', and Relay for Reddit's, and Kakao's, and...it's like, every app I'm using now has dark themes and they all look awesome on this screen. I'm coming the 6P.

So besides some funky blue shift stuff, I'm digging the 2's screen. And I love that I downsized and still kept the 6P's speakers basically.

However, as others have said, if Google decided to recall and replace these with an upgraded screen without the off-angle blue rainbow wave of yesteryear, sure, I'd definitely be interested. I mean, I did just spend a ****-ton of money on this thing. ;)

I have zero issues with the display on my 2XL. Zero.

Yes, it tints a bit blue when tilted but, for one thing, I don't make a habit of viewing my phone on an angle. Why would I do that? :)

And, as someone else mentioned, if a bit of blue tint is the price I pay for being able to see my screen when wearing prescription sunglasses, then that is a price I am more than willing to pay.

Love the phone. The screen is disappointing, though. The blue shift kicks in at a surprisingly soon angle when tilting. 20 degrees maybe. Not a deal breaker for me, but still. I've noticed motion blurring as well that is more significant that my 6P. When scrolling through twitter or a webpage, I could more easily pick up words in the text than I can with the 2 XL. It's fine, just a little sad, though, considering its brand new. Maybe that's part of the battery life uptick, which is a way bigger deal that colors for me. So happy overall for sure.

I've never heard of motion blur on a phone. Only tvs. Oh well. Did you try factory resetting your phone? People encountering issues didn't do a fresh install is what I've noticed.

I probably wouldn't have noticed, except in comparison to the phone I've had for 2 years. I tend to 'skim' when I'm scrolling a feed; twitter, facebook, webpage, whatever. I just noticed that while it's moving, it seems a little fuzzier than my last phone was. I don't think factory resetting would change anything.

Turn up brightness. All OLED show slight motion blur at really low brightness.

Glad your display is working well for you! :)

Slight blue tint on angle, but I really don't count that as an issue. Other than that, display is flawless.

Have slight blue at extreme angle. I never see it until I look for it. But then again I saw other OLED screens with a slight blue tint at an extreme angle.. so who cares?

The sad truth for early adopters is that the screen issues will be corrected in the manufacturing process but you'll be stuck with the early, inferior version because, you know, who cares.

Only slight blue tint on fairly significant angles. Otherwise, I really like the screen. I like the sRGB color scheme.
