Anybody received 8.1 Preview 2 yet?

So developer options camera this is completely new with the 8.1? I don't recall seeing any camera options in 8.0 developer settings

I think they intended to have it on , on the first preview...but it's there now , it had to be turned on to have the extra processor work. I expect it will either always be on in the final version or the switch will be in settings.

Great news! My phone passed safety net and let me add new cards to Android Pay today. So looks like the glitch has been sorted out. Are other people seeing success where it previously failed.

Downloaded 8.1dp2, problem with Bluetooth and voice commands seems to be fixed. Recorded a video and have a kind of white noise thing going on. If it's totally silent it fades out after about 5 seconds.Make a sound and it comes back then disappears again after 5 secs of silence.

I just tried it at the local grocery store. It worked! Not sure why it's failing the safety test. But for me the Android Pay app is working even with the error. ????
I tried it now at two vending machines, a gas station, and it worked each time. Also, the safety app says I pass now as well.

Wow, I'm really digging the camera now! That extra chip definitely makes a difference in both performance and quality.

It's like now it feels like it does portrait mode automatically. The way it processes the Bokeh on regular shots is amazing.

Android Auto wouldn't work for me properly. I could listen to music / do navigation but after taking a call music wouldn't work until disconnecting / reconnecting. I can't have this issue at the moment so I am rolling back to official 8.0 :P.

I'm going to try mine later to see if it's a systemic problem.

Android auto is that important to you? Just curious.

It is for trips down to Disney. I am an Annual Passholder and I am going down there again in December :). I know the way there so I don't truly use it for navigation but using "Ok Google" to read texts, text people, call people, listen to music, and see the traffic from the GPS is very useful.

Could somebody please try recording a video in a silent room and see if they get a noise that fades after a few seconds, then reappears when a noise is made please? Have posted a video of what I'm getting but nobody has replied. Need to decide whether the phone needs returning.
TIA

Just so I can check on my device is there anything to trigger this noise or does it just happen randomly?

sounds like an ocean fading in and out ? or a microphone turning up sensitivity like an auto gain ? if that is the case yes it happens to me

@Gil Emery Jr Thats it exactly, like a wave. I have a video app, Cinema 4K.You can change which microphone is used. Its not present using the other mic, although the volume is very low,so not useable.
@strikeIII Starts as soon as video starts recording, fades after 6-7 seconds of silence and is fine as long as not a single sound is made. The slightest noise and it returns, again fading after 6-7 seconds of silence.
