Anyone consider galaxy nexus?

Also, another big thing that bothers me about this razr is the fact that they are already talking about the razr maxx. I know samsung will have better phones coming out soon as well, but there will be only one nexus until Jelly Bean.

I would be all in on the galaxy nexus however it seems the razr has a better camera on top of build quality. I'm fairly swayed to the galaxy nexus at this point just for development and that screen. Also, my power button seems defective on my razr as well as the screen blotches.

I was in the same boat, but there is more to a phone than just the beauty of the screen

I have and am still considering it even though I have the Razr. My biggest problem is that the GN is a Samsung and I dislike the radio and build quality of Samsung phones.

I agree with radio problems with Samsung. Had trouble to. Motorola has been the for me.

This happens no matter what phone you buy. You think the nexus is going to be king for more than a couple months? Just get what you like now and be happy with it until its time to renew. Just because a better phone comes out doesn't mean your current phone sucks. Its the same phone it was when you thought it was awesome, so enjoy it!

While I agree, the Nexus i would say is different just because its own brand within a brand wont be updated nearly as quickly as the rest. Sure, the galaxy s3 will have 17 different versions, but the Nexus will be the Nexus until next December. The small incremental updates on phones (all the droid series phones, LG, HTC, etc) are what bother me.

I love my droid Razr but I will be checking out the Nexus on day one to see if I like it. If it's better than the razr I might get it but if it sucks, I'm happy to stay with my razr for a long time to come. The razr is by far my favorite android phone ever released at this point.

I'll stick with the Razr, we'll have ICS soon enough.

I'm just worried about how it's going to work having the android buttons on the razr and on the screen... Might make the phone awkward to type on it the keyboard is raised up any higher..

I see this concern a lot. For the phones with physical buttons, ICS will NOT use the on-screen buttons, rather it will use the hardware buttons on the phone. Your 4.3" RAZR screen will be 4.3" in ICS just like it is now in GB. I'd bet your RAZR on it....

Phonedog is doing a comparison of the two phones today, and quite honestly, all this hoopla about the Nexus and its release date issues is kinda making me loose my interest a little bit. I'll still be exchanging my Razr because of the flimsy button (and hopefully get a better screen without the blotches at that) but I might just hold out a little bit to see that white version in person.

I can't believe how many people still wonder about this. A simple Google search gives the answer.

This is one of the reasons I'm sticking with the RAZR. I like having the four buttons there all the time, no matter what, and never moving.

I don't know what took them so long

I have been playing with the GSM GN and the browser I think is better. The text appears larger than the RAZR

Is the screen worth bragging about in comparison to the razr?

I got the RAZR as a placeholder for the Nexus. If the Nexus comes out before Jan 9th then I will exchange for the Nexus. If the Nexus goes past that date then I will be more than happy keeping it. It hass been almost trouble free. The only gripe I have is for some reason the browsers like to close at will. Doesn't matter if it is stock or Dolphin HD. But so far have been really pleased with this phone. As for keeping it too long after the nexus drops, probably not. I'm sure the RAZR will get one big timely update to ICS but not holding my breath for anything after that. For this reason, no matter what I will be going with the Nexus, I want updates ASAP and for the next two years.

But this Nexus will also be one of the first, if not the first to have Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean Fall 2012. My guess anyway. Google did say they were slowind the process down with ICS. So yearly around the Holidays for sure. Could be the first and last Nexus on VZW too.
