Anyone else considering returning their EVO 3D?

Im sorry you guys are having such luck. Not sure if it was mentioned but background sync'ing of apps (friends stream, tweets, exchance, etc) can be hell on batteries. You may also want to look into the airrave. I know these phones eat batteries like none other when they're trying to find signal and cant. I've also heard some people talking about their phone appearing to go to sleep but not actually sleeping so you may want to check your battery performance monitor to find out.

On a more optimistic note, I couldnt be happier with my battery life (and with the phone in general). I can make it from 0600-2200 on light usage and still be above 75% life (that with maybe 5 mins of surfing or gaming per hour, apx 30-40 mins of talking during that time, apx 35 texts (tx/rx) and some music streaming (maybe 30m).

I keep my backlight on auto brightness, default screen time out, wifi/bt/4g all off. Accounts sync bumped up to maximum (i think its once an hour) and the rest pretty much stock. I really only keep up the default widgets too. You may want to check to see if you dont have a runaway app thats hogging up your juice man. You see a lot of that too...

I guess I got a good one.

I can only share my experiences and I know that doesnt help your situation but if you're just having problems iwth the one you may want ot try another phone of the same type...perhaps you just got a lemon?
I'm going to return it this week before friday. while the phone has a bunch of minor problems (most that can be fixed with software update), none were really that bad. the only one that's a deal breaker is the ear speaker clarity. dunno if others have this problem, but the volume fluctuates by itself and the sound crackles a lot.

Yeah I've been thinking about the looming July 24th return day rapidly approaching. I had hoped the GS2 would have been announced if not out by then...it almost feels like the are specifically NOT releasing it until 30days have passed so most of us stick with our EVO3D. As I said in my other post, I just am bored with it and I think most of it has to do with it seems so much like my EVO 4G. (aside from the 3D). I want a different phone and also hate the battery drain on this phone too. And to those who claim it has great battery life are either hardly using their phones or are comparing it to something that was a piece of crap before they got this phone.

My EVO 3D right out of the box has better battery life than my rooted and tweaked EVO 4G. I had to always have a charger close by, whether in the car, at my desk at work, or at home. I loved my EVO 4G and put up with it because it was an awesome phone other than the battery life and chalked it up to the fact that I used the 4G as a mini-laptop/netbook moreso than a phone. I am really sorry that some people are having issues with the 3D :( I wish they could enjoy theirs as much as I am enjoying mine.

EDIT: And I do use the 3D as much if not more than I did my 4G.

My phone is working great, i get pretty much a full day out of my charge and that includes hours of music on google music, decent amount of web browsing and an hour or so of netflix.

I'm probably going to have to return my Evo 3D. The phone is nice, but the reception is very poor compared to my previous phones (Samsung Moment, Palm Pre). Reception is about the same as the Nexus S 4G.

The Sense UI is also extremely buggy. I'm not too worried about that though... I would just put CM on there when it becomes available.

The other major problem I'm having is battery life. Sometimes it lasts 16hrs, but occasionally the battery will die in 4hrs with minimal usage... which, frankly, is ridiculous.

...

From a full charge plugged in overnight on AC adapter 100%
1 - 4G Off
2 - Wifi -disabled
3 - BT on
4 - 30 minutes of phone calls made on BT
5 - about 15 minutes of reading emails and fiddling with apps
6 - No gaming
7 - 3 bars
8- two exchange accounts sync
9 - no pictures
10 -GPS disabled
11 - screen set for about 15%/20% brightness - nearly all the way down.
12 - htc sense sync turned off

Not good - Battery died after 12 hours off the charger. Lost signal in an area I've never lost signal in the past 6 years.

HAHA 12hours and your complaining!! C'mon, really?!? I came from Palm Pre and I'm used to having a charger at work. HAHA I'm lucky if I can now make it through a work day (5-6hrs). s**t by the time I finish downloading my morning podcasts, get my morning words with friends fix in and the standard morning facebooking (all over Wifi); im sitting at 85%. I do this from 6-8am. HAHAHA. Do let me feel froggy and put on my live wallpaper that cycles through ALL my wallpapers. I have pushed this thing to sub 20% before noon. HAHA. **Disclaimer: My office is a dead zone and I constantly go in and out of having a signal**. So its my opinion that if you can make it through 12hours without having to charge the phone, your doing great. I have no complaints about the phones battery capabilities, I look in the mirror because I know if the battery sucks its because of what I'm doing. HAHA. Dont trade the phone in, unless its for a HP Pre 3 ;) haha. #Still Bitter Pre 3 isn't on Sprint

I would return it, but there isn't really another phone I would want unless I went back to the Evo.

I'd love the Galaxy S II, but it won't be out in time and my 30 days will end just a few days shy of the Photon, and I'm not really into that phone anyway.

I just think the Evo3D seems average. I don't care about the 3D stuff and I just don't have that "lustful" feeling like I had with my original Evo and have now for the Galaxy S II.

I hate the big, bulbous camera pod, I hate the way the 2d/3d switch rattles, the ringer volume is WAY low...enough that I miss calls in my car too often.

I've even thought about just getting the Nexus S 4G, but it seems to have a few issues of it's own.

But I guess I will keep it until the GS2 comes to Sprint and then sell the Evo 3D on eBay.

LOVE my Evo 3D! I've actually been impressed with the battery life I'm getting. No issues with charge time either. Speaker volume seemed a bit low and quiet, but after installing an equalizer app that issue was very easily solved. I'm very, very happy with the phone and glad I picked it up on June 25th. Plus no waiting on rebates -- less hassle so kudos to Sprint for that.
