I'm in this camp. I'm still rocking my Galaxy S5 and will probably update to the S9. A couple of reasons for this.
I really like a front FPS and as the Note 8 looks unlikely to have the much awaited embedded scanner, a rear scanner is not something I want. The S5 was the first Galaxy phone to have a fingerprint scanner. I have loved it and it works really well, despite the rubbish you read on the reviews. I really want to have Sammy's first phone with the embedded scanner.
The battery capacity will apparently be 3300 mah. This is a bit smaller than the S8 plus whilst having a slightly bigger screen. I'm betting the S9 will again have 2 sizes with the larger size having at least 3500 mah if not better battery capacity.
Bixby is something I really look forward to but is as yet not sorted and finalised. I'd rather wait a bit longer and have Bixby all properly up and running.
What I really do like about the Note 8 is 6 GB of RAM and the dual cameras. Those features on their own aren't enough for me to retire my still well working S5. I'm not knocking the upcoming Note 8, it's just that I've decided that one more flagship Galaxy device should see me getting all the features I want to keep for another 3-4 years.
What say you?
