Anyone else eager to LAUGH at what apple has to offer Sept 12th?

@ JHBThree - I'll tell you who cares about a removable battery, the hundreds of attorneys I support. When they're in the middle of a deposition and the phone battery dies they like the option to swap it out and keep receiving firm emails. Even with the long life of the blackberry some of our power users would carry two spare batteries. Just because you don't need to function the same way in a professional environment doesn't mean others don't.

The iphone 5 is not a big improvement sorry. It just isn't. I do think apple will not make the leaps and bounds now that Steve Jobs is gone (r.i.p.), like him or hate him (or apple as it relates) the man was good for technology.

What could they have majorly improved in your opinion? Something that isn't a personal preference like change the whole OS or screen size?

@Ryan - I'll take a shot at this question you posed to the other poster.

A removable battery - but that simply isn't going to happen
The ability to attach any file format to an email - really helps on the business level of things
The ability to use your phone as a flash drive
True 1280x720 HD screen resolution - to get a 1:1 pixel ratio for best video quality
The ability to play far more audio and video formats
Home screen widgets

Those things are just a quick off the top of my head while outside smoking a cigar. I'm sure I can come up with a dozen more. I'm glad they finally got multiple email signatures after all these years. Believe it or not it's very important on a business level.

Battery to me is of no concern if the engadget battery test holds true. Also I like the fact they make things such as the mophie that's a case/extended battery all in one.
The email attachment I could see from a business perspective. But personal use for me is pretty much a few Craigslist emails family friends and fantasy football stuff.
Flash drive I could see for some ppl.
True 720 HD screen couldn't we say that about all phone companies?
Widgets is so/so I don't use them much because of the effect on battery life.

@Ryan - again, I support these devices in a professional legal environment. Many of our users are moving to the iPhone from the Blackberry. Most like it but even those that do suffer from some shell shock. On their blackberry they could do things they couldn't on their iPhone, surprising right!? And with the battery thing we're talking about people that are soooo damn busy they can't be bothered to think about charging their mobile device. - I agree with you in a lot of ways on this point... I have never found myself out of battery life with my iPhone, Droid 2, or S3, but these people do. Sometimes they are in a poor reception zone (as a lot of courts are in old heavy concrete walled buildings) and find their batteries draining mega fast due to keeping the signal. It's in these cases especially they need extra batteries because these old court houses don't have plugs in the middle of the court room.

Widgets aren't as important but a lot of my attorney's want them to monitor all sorts of up to date data from the news, stocks, weather, whatever. There's definitely a very applicable use for widgets in a business environment. Flash drive use as well. Crap... I could imagine how much they would LOVE NFC! Being able to simply transfer over documents to each other and not have to have their secretaries first email the document to them then forward it in an email (since the iPhone can't just attach any 'ol document).

Again, in a business atmosphere all these features take on a different level of importance. Heck, I'm a musician and it always ticked me off that I couldn't email my singer the latest mix of one of our songs on my iPhone 3G.

Oh hey android fanboy. Its funny you post a thread complaining about apple and Apple fanboys and then exhibit the exact behavior you criticize in another.

Read again. The other poster was trying to claim that because it wasn't included, the iPhone 5 wasn't a big improvement. Its an asinine comment given that a removable battery wasn't ever a possibility.

I find it entertaining that the Apple lovers in this thread like to brag about how iOS is designed for people who are technologically ignorant like it's a good thing.

It's a good thing if you want to make a huge profit off of those people. Even though for the most part Android is just as simple, it only gets confusing when you start customizing it beyond wallpapers.

Like it or not, agree, or disagree with it, Apple, Samsung, and etc. are in business to make a profit. Samsung at one point was so interested in turning a profit that they had no problem copying Apple in order to achieve that goal.

True and Apple so wants to continue to make a profit that it copied Nokia when it launched the new iPod.

Do you really think that? Pre-sales of the iPhone 5 broke records for sales. Mp3 sales have dropped significantly for all the manufacturers. I don't think Apple's focus is on iPods anymore.

iphone started as a music phone, an ipod with a phone like the walkman phones, it didnt even have video recording lol my Nokia N95 blew it away as a smartphone.

The kids still like them and they will sell lots of them. My point was that Apple copied the Lumia design.

Ya I never understood the popularity of the iPod except for kids. I used to have an old UT starcomm phone that played music and games etc. But it was also a phone. It used a stylus but full screen. Way before the iPhone.

You're joking right? That design has more iPod nano lineage in it than anything else. If anything, you could say nokia copied the iPod mini (remember that?), because that is clearly where the design influence for the new nano started.
