Seems to me there would be a lot more availability of these phones if so many didn't get them just to check them out and with no intention of keeping them. I am amazed at how many people return them in the 14 day period that had no intention of keeping it in the first place.

I get a new phone every year and have never returned one. I do get squaretrade on each phone I get.
Sorry, I didn't read 7 pages of this thread. Doesn't the phone come with a complimentary 30 day subscription to Samsung+ covering accidental damage? If so, you'll just have to pay the deductible. My son dropped and cracked his S8. No luck with trying a claim with Verizons asurion. They don't carry the S8. Anyone else have to get a display or replacement device yet?

You have the diehard fans buying iPhones the moment they come out when but I never hear anyone tell me just to try and return. I figure if they return, it's because there is an issue... or that the phone is just not what they thought it would![]()
I thought Assurian covered physical damage.I am torn between Asurion and Samsung Premium Care. Asurion is cheaper but with damage, I feel that Samsung would be more responsive. I've walked into their care center here and they seem to be a lot more responsive. For example, the glass back of my S7e started to slightly lift from the back and Asurion told me over the phone that this would not be covered because it did not cover physical damage which it what they considered it - and not a defect. I actually had a big argument with them about this. Meanwhile, I then brought it to Samsung here and the looked at it, and took it to the back and resealed the phone without any questions while it was still under warranty. So, it makes me feel like Asurion will give me a hard time with a claim. Also, the deductible is like $250 or something (at least back then).
But, since I need to sign up with Asurion within 30 days, I did that. However, I don't have a problem dropping them and just moving to Samsung if it's the better option. Does anyone know if there is a time limit to sign up with Samsung Premium Care after you've received the phone?
Thanks.
Alot of us also sell our devices for a loss instead of returning them. I'm one of the frequent buyers and to lose a little money to try out a new phone doesn't bother me.You can see it all over this forum. "LG G6 to S8 back to LG G6" etc. I always read about people with current phones, getting the brand new one and going back to their original device.
All these low level YouTube people who have a different "daily driver" and get every new realesed device to review. There is no way they can all afford to buy all those phones. I'll bet most get the device and keep it for 14 days to review and make a video and return it. Back to their "daily driver".
The rest of us pay for it with increased costs and lack of availability of phones.

Within the forums it is very common.I've never heard of that is a major or even common thing to buy a phone just to try and return?? To go through the hassle of upgrading just to try? My only concern with that company is claims. I know what I will get with Square Trade. In another thread someone posted this link: Cell Phone Insurance
I was going to use it but with the discount code at Square Trade it was cheaper. I'm saved the link for future reference. $74 for one year with a $50 deductible sounds good to me. I've never cracked a screen (knock on wood) but the low cost of the insurance relieves the stress of worrying about it all the time.
