Also can try to Uninstall the update to Gmail by long press it then tap info and upper right corner tap Uninstall, don't let play store automatically update it and test it out that way then test it out by updating.

My Gmail just had another update dated today, version 2021.03.07.363560676.Release

Before I updated, I again uninstalled other updates, reset cache/data applied update then reset phone. Sent a test email with screen locked and it notified me about 4 minutes later. Sent another test one with screen unlocked and it took about a minute to notify. Hoping it will get better now. Again, thanks for all your help.

My notifications are better so far when unlocked or using the phone. Lock screen/sitting idle however is still bad, can be anywhere from a minute to 15 minutes for a notification.

For lock screen what are you using , AOD? Anything else ?

Just AOD stock, nothing else. I went into lock screen settings and AOD settings to see if I missed something as well

I wonder with everyone having issues with Andriod Webview app today might be causing issues for gmail, because if I disable that app gmail crashes.

Guess I'm lucky that way, not having any app crashes or other issues. Gmail has been like this since I got the phone.

My Samsung email app stopped working tonight. Google some things and found the fix was to uninstall the Web System View app. After that everything worked fine again.

If you want I can give you couple settings to reset.
1.try reset app preferences> settings>apps>3 dots upper right corner tap 3 dots and choose reset

2. Settings>general management>reset>reset settings

I've come to the conclusion that this is a Samsung programming feature. I have my iPhone 12 pro Max, pixel 4 XL, note 20 Ultra, and s21 on the same Wi-Fi. Emails and other notifications come in about the same time on the pixel and iphone. The Samsungs are delayed until I wake and unlock each phone.
