AC Question

I just activated my new Nexus 6p on Verizon last night by inserting my Sim Card from my iPhone 6. I am noticing my 6p is only connecting to 3G. Can anyone confirm settings under the cellular network settings? Should I select CDMA instead of Global? Thanks for the help.

I would try all the network settings to see if any of them work to get LTE.

Call Verizon. You should really have them update your device MEID # in there system. I had to get a new sim and have AT&T update my IMIE # for me to get LTE. Might work for you.

Settings > More > Cellular Networks > Access Point Names. Then click on the 3 dots in the top right corner then select "reset to default". Clear your cache by going to Settings > Storage then click on the " Cache Data" then clear it. Reboot phone and it should be fine.

If not then to go VZW and get a new SIM.

I believe the SIM cards for the iPhone are unique. I think I read that somewhere, I can't remember where though. You probably just need to go to Verizon and get a different SIM card. They should be able to do that at any Verizon store for you.

Via the Android Central App

Worked for me. Thanks!

Mine did the same thing. I switched the network to globel, and my phone would only lock on to 3g. I pressed the airplane mode button, then pressed it again to cycle all the radios and then the phone locked on to Verizon LTE and all is well. It's done it to me one other time randomly over the past month, and the airplane mode cycle seems to do the trick each time.

good luck

I fought with Verizon about this for two days straight. They even eventually created a network ticket for me and acknowledged that they didn't believe it was my phone at one point. I had done factory resets, replaced sim cards the different times with people at the Verizon store. Nothing worked. I finally met someone at the Verizon store who spent enough time to really troubleshoot it for me and not just go by their standard troubleshooting docs. He also tried a lot of things that didn't work, but finally here is what did.

1. He put his Verizon phone into hotspot mode.
2. He connected my phone to his hotspot.
3. He THEN inserted the sim card into my phone.

4g LTE came right up and had stayed. He couldn't really explain why it worked, but said that during activation it pulled some information about the device before activation and by going through the hotspot it used the information from his phone instead of mine.

Hope this helps someone.
