Just FYI looks like some things are moving on the sony website. White one now says ships in 1-2 days. Funny thing is mine went from "preparing for shipping" to "backordered" for some reason. Weird. Not to concerned right now though as the rep I talked to today said I was good to go.

I like the orange /red. That was my second pick. I think the two tone with the black is cool. Btw my status is "processing"

I did. You will get varying opinions but due to the glass back, etc. I felt it was worth it.

In general extended warranties are there more for the companies to make money but also to give consumers a feeling of 'security' in case something does happen.

Even saying that, I'll probably end up getting it. I haven't had a real need for extended warranties much but the times I had it, it was nice to have.

Agree. If I wasn't paying full price I might not get it but i can't stomach losing a $500 device if I drop it.

Sony's website says you can purchase the extended warranty anytime within the first 365 days of purchase. I may wait 30 days before I make a final decision to keep it or not.

Same. I sent an email to customer service and they said they couldn't give me a delivery date yet, but that I should expect an email with shipping info when it does ship.

I just cancelled my order....I have an orange international D5803 already, was only going to get this to compare them and the software revisions at this point, but decided not to waste my time. Hopefully someone here will do an unboxing when they get it.

FedEx tracking shows it has been picked up at Romeoville, IL. An indirect signature is required.

BTW I ordered the white model.

I cancelled mine from the Sony store after reports that the next wave wouldn't ship until Wednesday or later. Put an order in with B&H and it should ship today. Saved a few bucks too.
