i just got my white EVO about 3 1/2 weeks ago, and i just bought one for my father as well, and both of our back voers seem to be pretty loose.....the back cover seems pretty snugg except for the bottom left hand corner...everytime i pick it up it shakes a little bit, and even moves around, and screeks a bit...its not totally a life ending senario but i was wondering if anyone else with a white evo has this too.....called sprint and didnt get any real answers about (not surprised either)...they told me to go thru the insurance copmpany for a replacement..LOL.....although i'm within my 30 days still..........so any feed back will help....thanks in advance guys.....take care

I have a white EVO, just a couple weeks old and the back is tighter than bark on a tree. However, the upper corner by the headphone jack does not sit flush. It sticks up maybe a 32nd of an inch or so, but I can deal with it.

Hum that deff sound a little weird I had my white Evo for 2 day but broke it so I swapped it for black I to had did it within the 30days but was a pain Cuz they had no more white ones :-( but regardless white or black both mine are tight as can be and I have had the black for 2weeks now if I where you I'd exchange if they have another one but it is time consuming but I wouldn't want a phone that's going to break on me and collect alot of dust under your screen faster than you can say...... lol you know that my opinion

i think you should get it replaced.

I got my white evo 3 weeks go. no issues with cover.

try you best not to deal with the insurance company.. this has to be your last resort! Once they replace your phone.. You must deal with them for all warranty from there on! even for things that should be covered under normal product warranty.
They take longer than Sprint.

I have the black Evo, and even though it in no way effects the phone, it bugs me knowing the bottom right corner does not sit flush lol...innocase fixes it though, for me atleast. Out of sight, out of mind

I have one and it's tight.

In the colloquial sense? Or as a description of physical attributes? ;)

The Evo is tight, no doubt.

Ok, enough with the jokes. I found that whereas I find the HTC (with strong ties and partnerships to Foxconn, one of the most reputable OEMs) generally has good build quality. But for the Evo, I found the back cover can pop-up from the back of the phone like 1 MM or so, especially along the side edge.

I put the Pre's touchstone cover onto my Evo and that added like 1 MM of bulk. I gave up on using my custom touchstone cover, and instead got a new back cover--from that point my back covers would never fit 100% right. I noticed my friend's Evo is the same way, but she never modified her back cover. Even after getting a new back cover and eschewing my touchstone modified one, it never had perfect fit anymore (I could draw some allusions to my phone losing it's backdoor virginity, but perhaps that's not appropriate... ;)).

There was also some posts on Androidcentral back in the day about the back cover popping up after some time (last summer?). To be honest, if the phone is working without any issues I think this would stop bothering you after a while. If you get it exchanged, I feel there's no guarantee this wouldn't happen to your new phone.
