Anyone else waiting for Apple to reveal the iPhone 8 before buying the Note 8?

I love samsung but the curved screen is weak. I had never broke a screen until the s8 plus broke two screen protectors and one screen sliding out of my pocket key falling less than 2 inches. Going to iPhone until they bring a flat screen back. Bummer

I already preorderd the Note. But this doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to what Apple will bring. I'm pretty sure it will still be the same old locked down OS.

I am doing iOS 11 beta. Its nothing spectacular so far. A few GUI changes and other features. On the iPad I can appreciate the dock and the apps that are open but they just made it harder for multi window. At least with android/galaxy its easier.

If the bezeless iphone is not as big as the Plus/Note then for me it's a no go and I'm glad I pre-ordered the note. I'll keep the S8+ as a secondary backup phone/media player. As much as dual audio is awesome on the S8+ it keeps glitching and the settings are not beign saved. Audio/media sync/dual audio and now it seems bluetooth keeps cutting off. Once I get the Note and its fully setup I will do a format and use the S8+ as just a media device. Its a decent phone but I can't afford the downtime right now. I can also use the phone with my camera and dslrDashboard vs a mini ipad or the like. So many options with android.

Yeah apart from the price and it's audacity, the iPhone 8 is only going to be 5.8 inches (according to most rumours). With the new 18:9 aspect ratio it's going to be smaller than my 7 plus and on top of that Samsung are offering me a 6.3 inch display with the note. iOS 11 is a damp squid on the iPhone. In fact apart from the update for the iPads, all of Apple's software updates this year (Watch is, TV os and macOS) have been lacklustre.

As a technology enthusiast I am interested in any new developments that advance what we can do with mobile devices. I am not currently set on Android and Windows as my platforms of choice, but I help others with their tech and make room for Linux and iOS when I can to keep my general knowledge up.

If you prefer the iPhone then best of luck to you on the new release. I was an old Palm Pilot junkie and the Note series is the best I have found to carry on that user experience in my life but YMMV; and I am thrilled that we live in an age where we all can have these amazing devices to choose from.

I've had 3 iPhones and they were all the same each iteration was a little faster and better camera but ios to me has never really changed it just seems blah to me. I've also had many Samsung phones and they seem to work better for me. sure the note 8 isn't perfect but in my opinion its years ahead of apple

I agree with this. The fingerprint sensor on the Note 8 sucks, especially on such a tall device. Truth be told, this is the first Note device I'm not very excited about. I've already preordered it, but I'm not thrilled about it.

me neither...but having the gear s3 makes smart lock wonderful. Just push down on the home button and unlocks, at least that's how it is on my S8.

never have I ever been an Apple fan. I bought an iPod Touch 6th Generation. used it for like a week and it's been sitting in my nightstand ever since. just don't like Apple.

No. I've made up my mind already. It's the note 8 for me because it offers many more features than the iPhone 8.
