Anyone experiencing lag with their V20?

Thanks for all your replies. I'm really thinking/ hoping I just have a buggy one. Gonna wait til the end of my return window to see if it improves then see about exchanging for a new one. Seems like everyone is absolutely loving their phone and I want to do the same.

I would take it in now and let them look at it, let them act like a pro and pretend they fix it up for you (or at least try to pretend) then let them tell you to try it out for a few days and tell you to bring it back before 14 day mark. BB did it with my wife's lemon s7e, they increased the animations and told her it should be good now, I just played along because I knew it would be returned before the 14 day mark

Noticed some lag on the store display but realized it was due to the fact that I enabled Wi-Fi and app updates started downloading.

If its Verizon he can just call and they will ship a new one. You just get billed for tax on the new one and a credit when he ships back the old one.

OP, I would consider returning your device and grabbing another model of the V20. A new phone like that should not have that kind of lag. If it doesn't go away within another day or two, I would take it back.

You guys are awesome, I appreciate all the advice. Lag is still there and all apps are updated. I'm gonna give them a call later this week when I get a minute. I'd rather them ship one out as going to the store is about as exciting as tagging along with my wife on a mission for new shoes. 😁

Sorry I didn't read all of this post but has the OP tried to wipe and reinstall android again. But even before that I would do a "cache wipe" if that doesn't resolve the issue then something deeper issue is probably wrong...

Do you mean a factory reset of the phone then set it up again? That's worth a shot. Thanks.

The latest forum reviewer mentions lag but he installed a 3rd party launcher before he reviewed the phone. Are you using a third party launcher? (the review was biased in other ways as well)

Have you tried resetting and then adding ur apps 1 by 1 and seeing if it starts when u add a certain ap? ? i know its a pain, but that's what i would do BEFORE giving up on the V20... Its a great phone!

I'm going to try a factory reset and see how that helps. The only things ice seen lagging so far are music players (stock and 3rd party) and the camera, mainly the zoom. I know Android can lag occasionally but if taking a simple picture is not instantaneous as it was on my previous 3 phones, then there is some kind of issue.

From the sound if it, I just have a lemon. I keep you guys updated. I truly appreciate the responses.

Hello,

@OP

I am getting a slight 2 second delay as well when I pinch to zoom in and out, though it is only when the camera switches from Wide Angle to Standard and back, passing the green vertical mark on the zoom slider.

Is this what you're referring to? Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

If so, is this supposed to be the norm?

Ive had my V20 for kess than a week but honestly can say noooo lag whatsoever !!!

It's actually smoother than my Note 7 !!

I see this too when it switches the camera angles. That doesn't really bother me, but I see the lag from zooming in on the regular lens. It actually seems to be improving though, maybe a one second delay at most.

Scrolling through the music player still lags like crazy. Haven't had a chance to try a reset though. Hoping to this weekend.
