Anyone experiencing problems caused by the new update?

My face unlock feature no longer works. I received the update OTA. Anyone else having this issue?

Probably not. I can't use the beta. The beta won't install on my phone anymore since the update.

I can't find the voice button on the new stock Swype keyboard.

Skunkape60,

If one's S III is rooted, could the newer Swype KB be loaded?

Okay for anyone that has this problem here is what I've gone through trying to fix it... 3 hard resets, all 3 ways possible, deleting the messenger cache, switching to swype, called samsung they said my phn is damaged (BS its been in a mil spec case since day one, never dropped, never been wet), called Sprint cause i was also having an 'Error Code 34' occasionally when sending text since i got the phn, and FINALLY the tech, who said it happened with his also, said in certain batches the upgrade deleted a line of code in the keyboard operating system. He said its a very small number and he's surprised Samsung hasn't picked up on it yet. Said to try a 3rd part keyboard but because of the 'Code 34' issue he is making a direct swap ticket so just take the phn to the store and have them immediately swap to a new S3. So, anyone having this issue... Samsungs will tell you that you broke the phn and send it to them so they can fix it or call up Sprint and go through the wash with them amd if you have insurance get a new phn.

Update: so it seems the problem is deeper in the phn as ive tried several different keyboards all with the same problem. New phn here i come. Ridiculous...

When I got the S3, I loaded the Swype Beta and enjoyed the dragon-powered voice dictation. After the update, I noticed that the voice button is no longer there and I cant go to the swype installer and reinstall. So, I think the update installed the weaker stock Swype keyboard in the ROM. Can anyone who didnt use the Swype Beta confirm that swype is an option in the Language/Input menu?

Edit: Nevermind. I found out that it indeed was part of the ROM update. http://forums.androidcentral.com/sprint-galaxy-s-iii/211582-new-swype-keyboard-li3-upgrade.html

So I rooted and loaded the leaked Jellybean update (version LIH)...for the most part, so far, so good. However, I am having the following problem is with the Swype keyboard:

On all previous versions I have used (pre-loaded on my GSII and beta version on GSIII), the predictive text works like this: As one types, suggested words appear above the keyboard, one of which is always highlighted yellow, the one Swype suggests you use. When a familiar word is misspelled (e.g., thr instead of the, or thay instead of that), the correct word is highlighted and entered automatically unless you manually tap the actual misspelled word you entered. However, the behavior is now exactly the opposite, that is, the actual (misspelled) word you are typing is highlighted and entered automatically, meaning that if you want the correct word entered, you have to manually tap on it. Thus, the result for me is tons of misspellings due to accidentally touched adjacent letters to ones I am typing (my hands are slightly larger than average), which pretty much makes the predictive text feature useless. I have checked and double checked that all settings are correct, but no change.

Anyone else experiencing this and, if so, is there a fix to correct this obviously backward behavior (at least from all other versions I've used)?

Thanks!

I have not received the update yet so I'm wondering about how has the update affected the battery life?

Update: I received the update this morning. I noticed the battery draining very fast now.

I applied the update over the weekend, and now the android system is draining the battery. Sprint's only solutions are to reset the phone or get it replaced. They also offered to replace the battery.

Resetting won't work. They replaced mine and it had the older software and i refuse to update till jelly bean is out.
