I hope this helps others, I started looking in the different Mobile Network Settings and saw that my phone was set to "Global" for preferred network type. After some google searches I switched it to LTE/CDMA and restarted. Simultaneous voice+internet now working. Here is another improvement though, my wifi speeds has been slow with this phone, even with an AC router. I figured I would do another speed test after this update, here are my results. Notice there have been multiple tests over several days, and my router has not been reset since the previous slow speeds.

Switching networks to LTE/CDMA is NOT a requirement for voice+internet. Mine is set to global and simultaneous voice and internet works fine. Just wanted to clarify to everyone else reading the thread.

Yeah, doesn't make sense to me either, but it didn't work until I switched that option. And I did restart multiple times at least 5 mins after updating before trying this.

I think for me it was rebooting the phone that did the trick. So for new people:
1. Activate HD calling on the website or the My Verizon App.
2. Download the update.
3. Go into settings and select Advanced Calling and turn it on.
4. Reboot the phone (it should prompt you)

They might not all be necessary but after all this it should work.

nedqadams, good summary. When the update installs, the phone reboots automatically and hopefully you should be good if you enabled HD Voice in your account beforehand. For me, after that Advanced Calling was already on, and no reboot prompts. But I don't know if that's the same for everyone, and let's face it, one more reboot doesn't hurt.

If people install the update before enabling HD Voice, then definitely reboot.

I'm in California.

Update went quick, only drained 2% of my battery :) After the update and rebooting, Advanced Calling was automatically turned on. Confirmed both voice and data.

Speedtest is reasonable (Wireless N 5 GHz band). Wish my place had a better 4G signal.

I'll leave it on but I really don't like it. The feature ruins normal calls with a slight hissing noise in the background when someone talks. This happened on the S5 too and ultimately forced me to turn the feature off since it didn't need it for Talk+Data like the Turbo.

So annoying.

Found something else that the update has. You can now remove the Google search bar on your homescreens with the stock launcher. Long press any screen and new settings button is available. From there show/hide search.

I checked and it's available for me in Ohio. Haven't done it yet..voLTE doesn't mean much to me. I'm in Wi-Fi over 90% of the time, and LTE coverage is a bit spotty around here

I will have to test it out I could see this as getting annoying. Is the only way to turn it off from the website? When I go in to advanced calling it's grayed out.
