Anyone getting the Note 4 extra battery charging kit for $20?

Stupid question... I assume the phone has to reboot every time you swap batteries, or is there a faster way?

Yes it technically has to be shut off since you're removing the battery so the phone loses power. Once the new battery is in you can then power it back on.

It's too bad they can't find a way to make it hot swappable somehow, so you don't have to close down and reboot like that

One day they may be able to with using the wall charger.. But I don't think they will since they have the phone using the battery for power.

Agrreeeeed! That's the only sucky part. My M8 WAS rooted and now if I restart instead of just turning it off, it gets stuck in a boot loop. I hate it.

I waited to long and the battery is on back order and none of the codes work. Where did you guys get the codes from??

They are all in this thread. I tried the codes listed and it told me they were invalid several times. I kept trying and it eventually took it.

I went online last night and ordered one. Got a shipping notification this morning that is shipping out October 16th, with 3 day shipping. $25.92 tax shipping total

Its backordered now and I couldn't order so I'm waiting

I think I remember seeing something at the Samsung storefront about "while they last" or "while supplies last" when I ordered mine a few days ago. However I would expect Samsung to be running accessory deals throughout this period of N4 release. All by way of saying, watch for the inventory to come back up and see if you can catch another code at that point if the codes posted in this thread are no longer working.

I saw someone point out that the plastic carrying case is missing from this as compared to the Note 3 kit. How will you guys carry this battery? I don't want to short it in my pocket by accident and injure myself!

The original note batteries didn't come with a case either, I just used the little black bag that came with it. I must say though, I prefer the plastic case but the bag worked.

I was thinking of making a pouch out of a rubber glove using some adhesive and velcro....

With my Note 3, I had good results with aftermarket/clone batteries. I had clone battereries for about 10 months. They didn't even blink. Going with the same this time. Some may questioned putting el cheapo clone batteries in such an expensive machine. However, they work for me.

Most likely I will get two sets of clone batteries.. Waiting for the Anker and Caseology to put something out there. In the meantime, I will used these from China.. 3 batteries plus charger.. ;)

Anker is definitely good. I bought some of their spares for my. Note 3. No complaints. This time I just bought the official battery and charger since I had that 50 percent off coupon.

Yeah I saw that. Not going to post my choice, going to wait until I get them, try them out, then if they work, I will post up what I got and where. I know it is possible that I might just "crash and burn" with these.. :D

It is also a safety concern - a low quality battery is more likely to explode. Granted, the chances are slim. But typically stories of Samsung phones exploding involved 3rd party batteries
