I am not sure why you are going to ditch the Note 5 for the S7? Do you really think the S7 will have a MicroSD? Think again. A co-work was speaking to someone at Bell Canada yesterday because it's time for him to upgrade his hardware. The S7 will be shipping in 32/64/128GB and according to Bell it won't include a MicroSD.

Methinks you are wrong, sir. So does the AC blog. Doesn't matter to me anyway, I don't use all the storage on my 32GB Note 5 or the 16GB S6 before it.

So buy the new Apple 5sce!

I think he meant iphone 5 se. It's another 4" iphone with current specs said to be announced on March 15th at the Apple event and launched on the 18th.

For the most part Samsung users stick with whichever series they are in. Galaxy S users stay Galaxy S, and Note users stay Note. The S Pen seems to usually be the factor for Note users and size for S users.

I went from an S5 to Note 5. I wasn't sure about the S6 without a memory card, so I waited. Decided it wasn't much of a jump in screen size (and after seeing my managers iPhone 6 plus), so I upgraded to the Note 5. I always thought the Spen was a great idea, but the size seemed large before. Now I have no problems.

I'm going to wait for the Note 6.
The Spen is the reason. If there wasn't an Spen it really wouldn't be worth it to me and I might get the S7 because of cost. But I'll wait and see what the Note 6 brings.

Reason, I bought the Note 5 was particular for the smaller bezels, the S-pen upgrade, 4 GB, and probably other reasons. LOVE the S-pen, but the device is still a little too big for me.

Waiting on Note 6, need that Removable Battery back.

I get every single new Samsung flagship as it comes out (as well as any worthy flagships in between from other mfg). As far as Samsung goes I've had the S2, S3, Note 3, Note Edge, S5, Note 4, S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5 (not to mention other devices like the Galaxy Tab 2, Tab S, and Gear S). In between at various points I've also owned almost all the phones in the Nexus line (as well as Nexus tablets), all HTC's Flagships from the MyTouch 3G on, and even a couple LG phones.

So yes, I will be getting some type of S7. But I wouldn't call it "ditching" the Note 5. Which, btw, is the best device ever made so far (by any mfg).

I've spent a lot of money on Android, but let me tell you this Jump On Demand from T-Mo has made my upgrade cycle nearly painless (unless you mind paying a small monthly fee for your phone in perpetuity.. which I don't mind at all). So yeah I'll be getting 3 new phones a year at minimum.

I think you're cool.

same here... I have to charge my Note 5 at least twice a day. I'm in contruction and my phone is usually on for at least 7 hours per day.(screen-on time) I do have the Samsung fast charging USB portable battery, so it's very fast, but still a hassle.

will the S7 have the IR blaster? The issue I see with the S7 compared to a Note user is a smaller screen. I'm used to the larger screen of the Note 5 now. Specs wise it shouldn't be a ton better than the Note 5 other than IR blaster and SD storage.

Have had all the Notes with the exception of the first in the series. Was skeptical about the Note 5 for all the usual reasons but have found it to be the best device of any kind that I've ever had.

Screen real estate and the S pen insure that I'll not be switching to a different series. (Would appreciate Samsung bringing back the IR blaster and mhl capability.)

As a photographer I'm tempted by the new screw on lens option for the S7 and S7 edge. This could really make shooting with a phone interesting.

LOL - No way! Not if it were half price. I have to have an S Pen for my business now. Some of the action notes I found from weeks before I was able to transform into big sales that yielded profits enough to pay for the device several times over.

Not only that but the screen size and overall performance of the Note 5 are very addictive.

There's absolutely no reason for me to UPGRADE to a S7! Why? To go chasing the latest and greatest? The Note 5 has a ton of memory, fast processor, S Pen, great screen. I plan on keeping this at least TWO YEARS! OR MORE.

If my battery deteriorates, I'll just call VZ and get a refurbished Asurion warranty replacement with a NEW battery overnited to me.

This fascination and obsession of UPGRADING and switching out phone after phone, well.. to put it mildly. .. YMMV.

I don't use my SPen a ton but still like the Note form factor. I am going to check out the Edge. See if it improves one handed use for me and if I actually find value in the EDGE features. If not I will wait for Note 6.

I am intrigued mainly because of low light motion which the note 5 still has issues with. The auto focus on the s7 should be substantially better and low light performance should be better.
