Last week, my YT account got banned, no idea why. I sent the un-ban request email, etc, and got a response several hours later saying my account was reinstated. Except when I try to sign in, it takes me to a "you cannot access this google product" page. I sent a message, have yet to get a response. So, just wondering if anyone knows of a normal customer service number for either, because I'm having trouble finding one.

Was this during the 'outtage' that hit Google services a couple days ago, by any chance? If so, many accounts weren't accessible but should be up by now, have you tried again?

Been trying since Dec 15th. Got a email saying my account was back up that day-still nothing.

It doesn't exist unfortunately :-\ Google's become too big for that. It's all automated....in fact I highly suspect Google itself is being ran by an AI supercomputer and no one's figured it out yet

But I think when the first Terminators roll off the assembly line folks will start catching on lol.

So what am I supposed to do? Make a new Gmail address and connect to that? There's got to be some specific number, but eveything I look up is for people other than the rank and file.

Are you a youtube premium customer or just use the ad free version of youtube? I'm a youtube premium customer bc I pay for youtube music and if I open the youtube app on my phone goto help and feedback i then have a contact us option and can initiate support and get help.

Funny thing is, I can't even connect to youtube on my phone now, since because of my account being down.

So, I still need help. I can log into my Google account still fine, I changed my password, yet I still can't log into my youtube account, despite getting the email days ago saying my account was reinstated. Every time I hit Sign it, it just takes me to this. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40039?p=youtube So I'm still at a total loss. I have no idea what else I could try to do. I don't want to make a new gmail address to use for my phone as well so I can just start over, because that's my primary Gmail, my only one. Has anyone else every had this issue? I really wish I could just talk to a human being.

Update: Well, got a email from Youtube basically saying, our bad. So, I'm able to log into Youtube again! Only thing that sucks is looks like ALL my posts got vaporized, even people's responses to them. Which is a bit annoying since I had one post on a video that had thousands of likes and hundreds of responses. I just liked the fact that I had said something that people responded to. Something decent, I assure you.

Just from a curiosity standpoint, did you ever actually speak to anyone with the number given above or any other number?

Nope! Every option just gave me some kind of info or website, then would hang up. I guess unless you make a ton of money on YT there's no more direct contact. I wound up getting this dealt with through Twitter-which I don't use. I'm just glad it was all a "our bad" vs me actually having done something. I don't post videos, and any comments I make on videos are far less vicious/nasty than some of the crap I see people post. Still, having to jump through hoops, or not even knowing what hoops to jump through is not fun. I don't like not having the ability for ease of issue discussion if there's a problem.

Honestly Google has been destroying Youtube ever since they bought it, in many many ways. As is the case in life... good things never last. Greed destroys all.

Google has owned YouTube since November 2006. Was YouTube much better in the first 18 months before Google bought YouTube?

Exactly and it seems to have it’s supporters. Years ago, I couldn’t speak to anyone there and I mean around 10 years or so. I simply wondered if things have changed but it seems to be the same as before and probably always has been.

Keep inquiring about getting the data restored. They have the backups. They just need to choose to use them.

Before Google purchased YouTube you could pre-buffer whole videos/movies if the connection was slower, and still have a smooth viewing experience..... without constant ads all through the beginning/middle sections and end of the videos. Google killed the pre-buffering immediately...major pita and major step back. Plus the days of free YouTube are being squeezed away by Google's ad war forcing out smaller creators and pushing people into paying for YouTube premium.... which also highlights the commercialized channels, which are out to sell you something versus just sharing information and giving unbiased opinions, which is what YouTube was founded on.

Google is basically turning YouTube into just another subscription based broadcast TV network. I don't think that's why a lot of us started watching/sharing on it. Not to mention the extreme censorship, and political steering, that is killing the freedom of speech that YouTube was based on and known for. If folks like that, and are willing to pay for it, then good for them..... but those are just some of the reasons I no longer find it fitting my needs ;)
