Anyone have any suggestions how I can get my hands on an Evo?

So I just tried to use the Chat button in the Support->Accounts->Contact Us area and got the following message:

"The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. "

Am I in the wrong place to initiate the Web Chat? Thanks.
 
For some reason the button for chat only appears when I'm signed in to my account less than half the time, and when it is there it always says they aren't available. So a couple of weeks ago I Googled "Sprint Chat" the first link that comes up: Sprint Chat always is available. Copy that link and you should be good to go. Keep me updated, please. :)
 
Yours will probably show processing though the Sprint chat rep told me mine was on backorder which Donna says is normal so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it gets processed soon!
 
The answers r in the forum my friend ... usually 5-7 business days not including the day u ordered it. The average has been about 5 to get a tracking number and then its all on UPS from there .... although I think they r starting to sorta get a better handle on their inventory slowly but surely

I Love my Evo
 
Just spoke with them - mines not backordered; it's in it's final stage of processing and "will ship shortly." :D
 
Thanks for the chat link - worked like a charm. The rep gave me my order number and said that a tracking # was not yet generated but to expect 3-5 business days. No mention of backorder but it may be too soon to know that.

Here's the latest for me:

"Mike: According to our records, the HTC EVO that you have ordered is currently out of inventory and Sprint is expecting to have orders fulfilled and shipped within 12-15 business days from when the order was originally placed due to the high demand of the device. Sprint expects HTC to provide inventory of the device within 10 business days, and our order processing time-frame is 2-5 business days. Sprint is working diligently on getting the device back in inventory for your order and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Talk about a rollercoaster ride....
 
OH NO! I think you ordered yours - yesterday? I ordered mine the day before yesterday. I was excited when I talked to chat, but now I feel soooo saaadddd! LOL! Did you email support - where did that response come from. Also, I wonder if this is dependent on the state you are in? Hmm. :( :(

I was just typing in my order # and a web chat box opened with "Mike" asking if he could help me with my order status. The quote I included above is from the chat transcript.

I placed my order with Art on 8/24, late in the day (3:30 p.m. Dallas time). I'm in the state of confusion, er, CA....

They're nowhere to be found in my neck of the woods. Doesn't matter if its a Sprint location or Brest Buy. Its been that way for the past month or so.
 
Yep, the chat rep told me the same thing.

"Jessica: Currently, your device is on back order. Please allow 12-15 business days to receive your device from the date it was placed."

Hopefully this is just like the others and it will be processed sooner rather than later.
 
YES !!! i got mine.. if course UPS delivered it late...

But at least I got it today !!

Congrats.....UPS missed someone home at my house so its now on a truck driving around my county...I can almost taste it haha......I called them up and told them NOT to re-deliver it but to call me when the truck gets back in and I'll come to them.....I need my EVO!!!!

EDIT: The truck came back and I got my phone 2 hrs earlier then planned...what a nice driver

I got me Evo today. I am waiting for the battery to charge before I turn it on. It's been charging for about an hour now, so it can't be much longer. :cool:
 
After reading all the backorder comments, I didn't trust my webchat I had earlier with normal tech support, so I called their order support number and, :( :( :( YES - it's backordered. She wouldn't give me a timeframe though like you guys got. DANG IT!~!
