anyone having a problem with gmail?

I have a note 4, verizon, running marshmallow, and after the update when I open an email from gmail and it opens a webpage, when I am done and push the back button I am not directed back to gmail, but instead gmail closes.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have any power-saving modes on, or "RAM manager" apps? If so, that might be force-closing Gmail when you switch to another app.

No I don't have any battery savers on. I've checked everywhere and can't find a way to fix this problem.

What if you bring up the Recent Apps list instead of using the Back button?
