Anyone having problems with Google Maps 5.3.1 install?

Up to date apk

Here is the most up to date apk of maps..

unzip to your SD card and then install with your favorite FILE MANAGER

have u tried to install the .apk itself.. instead of downloading it from the market???

Yeah, just did. No joy. Don't know what it is. Very frustrating. Gonna upgrade this stupid phone as soon as I can, but that likely won't be until next month. UGH!

When I try to install the APK it tells me that it will Replace Application. But I've looked e everywhere and can't find the app on my phone - even using Titanium Backup. It's there - but it's not there, seems like. Enough to screw me up, but not enough for me to see - not easily anyway.

And for what it's worth, this site says I'm an "Android Expert" - I guess due to the volume of posts I've had. I'm no expert - I just ask a lot of questions!

Success. Restarted the phone, then installed the APK (still showed that it was Replacing, even though there was no trace on the phone - odd...) and it worked.

Ok good... thats what I had to do once as well.. Im glad that you went thru my steps and it worked for you. FOR ANYONE ELSE HAVING ISSUES PLS TRY THIS
