anyone having trouble with yahoo mail?

My gf is running stock ans she's having the same problem with her stock mail app. I think its the mail app itself because the rest of the phone is running fine. It's definitely not a custom rom problem.

I am also having the problem. If you click on an email and try to scroll down, it disappears..never to be accessed again via the phone. It is still in my mail box, but the screen is blank...white.
Anyone found a fix??

I have the same thing happening on my HTC Thunderbolt to Yahoo (via Verizon) mail, and read about a similar thing happening (which may be related, ..or not) with a Samsung via verizon phone, but with a POP connection where emails disappear. Why I think the two may be related is the display of my email disappears shortly after displaying the msg, and mostly when I try to scroll. I would expect there is a software attempt to gain memory for displaying more data, and the "chain" may be getting damaged. I can no longer display that email even though it is still listed. I CAN access the invisible msg with my PC. Some emails are not affected on my thunderbolt..

I use the Yahoo Mail App, and i can never open any attachments. I have to send them to my Gmail account to see anything. Any ideas on that?

I've been using K9 for a few days and it works fine. The mail messages don't disappear as they do in the stock mail app. However, I totally despise the K9 app and want to uninstall it but for now it at least shows the message.

Fyi, just noticed it happening with the stock mail app on my HTC Flyer tablet too.

Yahoo mail has had issues reported here for the ThunderBolt since March 19th, two days after release date. If you do a search in this forum you will find ~22 Yahoo Mail hits/complaint threads. Nothing new with this thread. Basically, everyone recommends downloading the Yahoo mail program. Other than that, most everyone blames the whole Yahoo email fiasco on Yahoo.

Personally, I don't use Yahoo on my ThunderBolt. So... I'm just the messenger. Thought some people would like to know. Check out the search on Yahoo.

Maildroid > K-9

It's way better.

I said it before but I really recommend Maildroid app for Yahoo email users. No issues to report. I tried K9 for a few weeks but I ALWAYS got my emails much quicker with Maildroid and it has worked better with Yahoo mail since the start. Plus I like the layout better. I use it now for both my Yahoo and Business email and its nearly flawless. The developer is always updating and adding great new features and best of all he responds to every message within just hours if you need help too which is unheard of technical support. Its free too. There is a Pro version which is basically the same thing with no ads which I went with because when you use email as much as I do, I figured I'd support the cause. Stock is nice and has a nice layout, but might as well try Maildroid until someone figures out whats going on and fixes the issue. Then you can always go back... if you still want to

That may be true, but this issue just started a week for me. Yahoo Mail stock had worked flawlessly for me for 5 months prior to this.

The fix

I have fixed the problem, and have a solution.. This is for sense 3 ROMs only!!!

Go into root explorer.
Change the mail.apk into a .bak
Remove the mail widget from screen.
Reboot phone
move the new sense 3.0 mail.apk file to same directory (should be somewhere on this forum)

Change permissions to rw.r.r
Install that mail.apk file
Go to settings and clear data
Re add you're email accounts.

Now it should be working

Also make sure that under each account you go into the settings > send receive options > UNCHECK Auto Download Message! This is a simple fix (May even work for NON ROOTED USERS)

That started with mine exactly a couple days ago. I have yahoo on the mail app as well. No wifi possibly can be obtained. Reads error under wifi heading can't choose the box at all it . Yahoo mail opened but went blank after literally a sec. If that. What's even worse is I for a factory reset and still the same. So after my poor dis.very spent hours on the phone with tech support and HTC represenatives problem not solved just sending replacement. So as the nice man on the phone asked if I had any questions...I said other than what the bell happened to it. No. Hoping for a call back sometime.

When I used the Yahoo Mail app I noticed it drained my battery rather quickly. As soon as I uninstalled the app it went back to normal. I noticed a topic about this (battery draining/Yahoo) in the HTC Rezound forum as well. Still no fix for Yahoo email stock though. Very sad as it use to work flawlessly.

I gave up and am now happily using K9. It syncs on schedule, unlike the stock software, displays all my emails correctly, unlike the stock software and allows me to enlarge the text, unlike the stock software! (and for those inclined, I can set each account to the color I want, unlike the stock software).
