Anyone Interested in getting the Note5?

It's tough to say really. LG still seems intent on differentiating itself to gain market share, and then focusing on those differences in their sales campaigns (battery and sd card giveaways for example) to attack Samsung. Time will tell.

I'm still considering the Note 5, but I'll be waiting for reviews of the Moto X PE 2015 as well. I'm also keeping an eye out for this alleged G4 Pro. Getting my G4 a week ago on an insurance replacement for my trusty G2 has lessened my need for a new toy, and I'm really liking the G4 thus far, so I'm being patient. Heck I may defer 2015 and see what 2016 has to offer.

I hope LG sticks to its G3 and G4 roots, and provide the true Android experience of expandable storage and removable batteries. Those options are what makes Android special and different from the iPhone. However, I'm not hopeful and believe LG will eventually succumb to unibody frames. I'm looking forward to LG's Nexus device.

I've honestly thought about it. My g4 lags and has issues with WiFi calling. Hopefully t mobile releases an update soon..if not I'll gladly go to the note 5 or the next nexus device.

Note 5 looks really good to me, will be a dilemma if i had not bought my G4. (even though i told myself i will not buy a samsung if they stick with the physical home button :p)

Sealed batteries will be used, and it works for a lot of consumers. Look at how the iPhone community has embraced their phones.

I think if Apple made a phone out of a milk carton their cult would buy it and say it's the best phone ever.

I really hope that LG doesn't go sealed with the batteries and SD card. I have the extra battery and it does come in handy from time to time, I like having it a lot more than I thought I would. SD card is important since I don't want to pay for storage but I might go home cloud at some point so SD would be less important then. You can get massive storage on a home cloud pretty cheap. I retain photos for my business and need to refer to them from time to time.

I like the idea of a S-pen a lot, maybe LG utilizes one in the future. In the end there isn't enough there with the Note 5 to make me switch even though it's probably a great device. I'm still liking my LG tons, have it tweaked nicely and it's performing great for me.

It's ironic actually. A few years ago I was tempted to buy a Samsung phone only because of the removable battery and SD card support. I passed because I just didn't like the build quality and materials. Today, they're offering a nicely made phone with premium materials and I'm passing on it because there's no removable battery and SD card.

Google Play tells me that my Note3 is not compatible with Periscope. I wonder if the Note5 compatible? Live streaming is becoming a part of everyday life.

I've got my eye on the Note 5. If the battery life is better than my G4 and it doesn't get hot in my hand randomly, I'm prepared to sacrifice the expandable storage and form factor

I've been trying to find one here in seoul for 2 days. I want one bad. I've had my G4 since launch day here (April 28) and I'm ready to go back to a note. I really miss the S-pen and screen. While my G4's camera is amazing it is also sometime slower then mollases. Especially low light, ill take it out open the camera and immediately hit the shutter button just to have to wait 10 seconds for the pic to take. Drives me nuts.

Do we all think the build materials are ideal? I know I babied my fully glass N4 for fear of dropping it. It looks really sexy and I admit to fleeting pangs of buyers remorse. But for me it will likely need to be shrouded in full body armour to be usable without fear thus negating its design anyways. A leather backed device seems so much more conducive to going caseless.

I used to always want an SD card as well, but I at least have unlimited data now and for the most part don't really care if I have an SD card or not. I have all my music on google music, all my pictures automatically backed up to google, and for the most part, don't need expandable storage.

What I have experienced with the cloud is you always have to have a connection. Either through data or wifi. With using the SD card no need for any connection. Most have data limits now. The ones that don't, seem not to have coverage in many locations :(

For those wondering I took the plunge yesterday.
I like my G4 but there are a few issues

1) Random Lag. Not sure if it is just my micro SD card or the software but it is really annoying
2) Touch screen issues--despite playing with the sensitivity, it still has issues with registering touches. Why does it hate my thumb so much?
3) randomly gets hot when not using it.

Obviously it has no fingerprint sensor, which is really useful with lastpass and other things..

I have only had the g5 so far for a day but initial thoughts

1) Fingerprint sensor massive improvement over note 4
2) Screen is very very good.
3) No lag so far.
4) Tmobile signal strength seems fine
5) Even with a glass screen protector on, the touchscreen is more responsive than the g4
6) Touchwiz has improved a lot. Some features are useful and missing in g4 (download booster etc)

Drawbacks

1) obviously only 64 gig max storage, which is less than a 128 gig microsd card. But it is faster than any microsd card memory (from what I've heard)
2) Its still a huge slab. At least with the case on, it does not feel as good in the hand as a g4. But the no swipe fingerprint sensor makes it much less awkward than a note 4. I did give up the note 4 due to the size and awkwardness in the hand. This is better but its still a BIG phone.
3) will I use the s-pen this time? I dunno but I wanted to try
4) Very expensive if you want to buy outright, even expensive with a tmobile installment plan--although if you upgrade to the jump now you can jump 3x a year without paying taxes and no time limits...

I will post more thoughts as I will give this a week and if unhappy will return...and might experiment with the g4 with different microsd cards to see if that affects the lag.

For those who are having touch issues yet, this is how I cured mine. Accessibility, Motor & Cognition; Touch feedback time I have mine set to long (I use a stylus); AND under Cogntion I actually turned on Touch control areas. That part helped me with the phone thinking some touches were the double tap. Haven't had a problem yet since changing those 2 settings.

No way dude....LG G4 is my best Android phone ever. Note 5 is just a copy paste of the S6 with a stylus pen which I do not need anyway

Not me. It's basically an iPhone with a stylus and different internals. Unibody aluminum, antenna lines, curved glass, no removable battery, no SD card, headphone jack on bottom... Wait... Is that a Note 5 or an iPhone 6 I'm talking about here?...

Not even a little interested in a Note 5. My G4 does everything I could ask of a phone and more at this time. Now when the Droid Turbo 2 or G5 come out, I'll take a look.

Note5 is a slap in the face to all true Android users just like the Galaxy S6.

If LG continues to only offer the removable battery and swappable external storage we are set to be long time friends for years to come.

I'm very glad I did not get the HTC M9 and waited it out for the G4. Now that we have root the phone can only get better with Roms in the near future I hope.

No, I just went a bought a LG G4 last night cannot wait should be here today. My main reasons for not getting a Note 5 are no removable battery and SD card slot.

Thanks for the info! I'd be really curious to know your thoughts on battery life between the two phones, as well as the heating issue on the G4. Does the N5 get hot as well?
