Anyone know how to get rid of ongoing notifications?

Hey everyone.
I'm using 2 apps, ultimate rotation control, and sound profile. They are both ongoing apps. What I really dislike is the fact that there are always the notifications for these apps on the top left of my phone on the notification bar.
Does anyone know how to make them go away without forcing the app to close?
I read about the WiFi notification everywhere, but it doesn't apply to other apps, and most of the posts were old. Is there an app to get rid of them, or does anyone know how I can get rid of them? I do want to keep other notifications like messages and emails though.
That small issue will make me quit using those apps.

Thanks.
Will provide screenshots if necessary.

I don't use either app but am willing to bet that there's some way within each app to turn off whatever notifications are bothering you.
Are there multiple notifications from each app or is it just one notification that is shown?

You were right. I didn't look hard enough. Inside the screen rotator app, I can turn off the notification, but in sound profile, when I turn off the notification in the settings, a different notification comes up for the same app.

And you can't find any other places in the Sound Profile app that have notification settings? What does this one say?

Inside the sound profile app, I have the options shown in my screenshot. I unchecked the 5th option down, but the icon is still there. And you can see the icon in this screenshot too.

What happens if you uncheck the 7th option?

Honestly, I removed both apps. I'm new to android, and once digging more, android does what I need, without an app :)

I have My Data Manager
& it runs under Ongoing when I pull down the bar from top

How do I remove that ?

If you just want to remove the persistent notification but still have the app running, open My Data Manager, press the Menu button (or select the 3 dots in the upper right corner), select Settings and set Persistent Notification to Off. uploadfromtaptalk1376672872451.jpgSent from my rooted, debloated, deodexed Sinclair ZX-80 running CM -0.001 using Tapatalk 2

THANK YOU SO MUCH

Can you also please tell me
what this indication means ?

I'm guessing that it's warning you that at your current rate you'll exceed your data usage. If you go to this screen in the app you can check.uploadfromtaptalk1376762441197.jpgThis assumes, of course, that you bothered to enter your data cap and cycle dates.

As I noted, I'm just guessing - I just installed the app to try to help you out - you could go to their website (http://www.mobidia.com) or contact the developer feedback@mobidia.com to find out for sure.

Edit: from their FAQ (accessed from the About menu item):
"What is the '!' in the widget/persistent notification?
The '!' indicates that you have not have a plan setup."
