Recently I added my Wegmans Shoppers club card as a membership card is Samsung Pay. Added the card number, and Samsung pay generated a barcode based on that number. Went to scan at store and it was not recognized. Later in settings I see that there are number barcode types that can be chosen.

Does anyone know what barcode type the wegmans shoppers club card is?

I don't know the answer to your question but some scanners don't work well with smart devices or sometimes the brightness has to be turned up.

The OP is not referring to a payment method. They are referring to a store shoppers club discount card to store inside Samsung Pay as a barcode which would be read by a store scanner.

You completely missed the point. If they do not accept samsung pay, they sure aint going to accept any reward cards stored in samsung pay.

No I didn't miss the point. You can pull up the barcode with Samsung Pay and scan it at the store, which according to the way the OP worded his post is what he tried to do. It works just like any app that stores loyalty cards.

yea, the op scanned it and it did not work. ever stopped to think it did not work because the op was using samsumg pay? If the pos terminal is able to distinguish between google pay and samsung pay, then it will not work. So YES, imo you did miss the point.

I've used the loyalty card feature independent of Samsung Pay. When you pull up the barcode a regular scanner reads the bar code.... case closed

I think it didnt work because the barcode is wrong....but in Samsung pay there is an option to select the barcode type. I may just go through all the barcode types until I find the one that looks like my physical card.
EDIT....looks like changing the barcode types doesnt change the actual barcode that's being displayed

I've never had to change a barcode type. What are the options? Does it look different than your physical card?

If OP was able to add Wegmans Shoppers club card to Samsung pay wouldn't that mean its accepts Samsung pay?

Almost any terminal with a Mag reader will take Samsung Pay. The loyalty card function can be used independently of Samsung Pay if you don't feel like carrying all your cards. You can also use a separate app like Key Ring to store your cards.Screenshot_20200505-010754_Google%20Play%20Store.jpeg

I believe you can also capture a picture of the physical card since you have it

The barcode the app generates looks different than the barcode on the actual card, or the barcode that used to work with Apple Wallet.
Yes I could take a picture of the barcode, but when using samsung pay and selecting the membership cards when checking out, the generated barcode is what displays. Getting to the photo I took of the back of the card requires additional swipes and steps....its doable just not ideal.
