Anyone moving to Note 7

U aren't facing any issues on yr note edge regarding the night clock, phone freezing, battery drain, recurrent asking for password after 6.0 update?

My Note Edge runs perfectly. If your phone is not performing well, you should reset it. Also poor battery performance means your battery has gone bad. Also if you allow certain apps to run on the background such as Facebook or Tinder your battery will drain fast.

I'm really not impressed. I desperately needed a new phone so I stayed with the Note line. The Edge has a wider screen by far. Not a fan of the metal casing and not a fan of apps on the home screen. The Note 7 version of the Edge panel is a straight joke.....

Samsung abandoned Edge functionality basically, perhaps it's too techy. People have 10 thumbs that's why half like iPhone. iPhone hasn't really changed in 10 years except for size. Talk about a lazy customer base.
Note Edge only appealed to tech savvy people like us, a super tiny fraction of the users so it went away. Also real Edge screen is going away and Note line is geeting more consumer friendly and less pro looking even though it's $200 more. Note 7 looks just like S7 Edge. Is a pen worth 200?

You said exactly what I said in another thread. The phone looks like a tall *** S7. As I said, I needed a new phone. Since my Edge still works I'm just gonna keep it as a backup. This will be my last Note. I don't like this phone and now I have to retrain my damn brain to use a phone without an edge panel...

The Edge was an experiment which didn't get anywhere, because it's too techy for general public as I stated above. So, either we hang on to our Edge phones for the next 10 years since there'll be no more Edge, which isn't logical, or we'll eventually move on to other phones.

I'd love it Samsung made the folding screen (which is on hold). It's a great idea, but I am not sure how thick it will be. The other idea is roll out screen. Not sure about that one. But Note 7, which I am sure is a great phone, doesn't attract me at all.

I sort of considered getting the Note 7 but I bought my Note 5 in December so I really don't need another phone so quickly. Also, all the negatives such as the display scratching easily. Then there is the double edges. Remember the problem on the Note Edge how if you got the pen to close to the edge panel, the pen would slip off? Well now there are two edges to worry about.

Anyways, I still use my Note Edge although it's not activated, same with my Note 4. I have two S7 Edge phones that are activated as well as my Note 5 and three iPhones. I have 5 lines on T-Mobile and a 6th prepaid line that I activate from time to time just because I have so many phones that I still refuse to stop using or even think of selling.

My next phone will be bought sometime in 2017, maybe a Nexus or maybe the S8 or...

I guess I like the bigger screen. Maybe that and i got the titanium note but black for the 7. They are both great phones don't get me wrong, just like the note better

No one here is hating on Note 7, but we think it's gotten too narrow. It has lost its professional look and appeal. I think Samsung should make a Note 7 plus, with 6" tablet-like design but superthin and no latest edge screen gimick.

already have. I miss the IR blaster and the removable battery a bit, but it's been faster and held battery better.

I am still enamored with my Note Edge. Hard to believe that I bought this thing in April of last year and the phone still doesn't seem as dated as I thought it would. I constantly use the S Pen and it's almost a necessity. I have had the occasional reboot or the battery drain issue (which I found out was AnTuTu Benchmark draining my battery like a vampire to a maxi pad), but all and all, this phone has never let me down. I tried out the Note 7. It's a damn good phone. And if you are coming from a Note 3, you will completely see and feel a marked difference in performance. But I feel that as long as Samsung and Verizon keep giving the phone support, I will keep this phone as long as possible.

It's amazing that even a company like Samsung can make such blunders. They make tens of millions of phones a year without a hitch and now this. Some replacement N7s are still smoking or blowing up. But why just N7? What's so different?

If I had to guess, I'd say the specs of that phone are just too much for current batteries to handle. How much processing power can we expect to stuff into these devices before we hit the wall?

I find it very interesting that even Samsung can miss like this. It reminds me of what Toyota went through a few years ago. They are basically the largest automaker in the world and probably the most successful and they got too full of themselves and lax their quality control just a bit and ended up with millions of vehicles going through recalls. This wasn't related to the Takata airbag. They got a jolt after that and got their stuff together.

I don't think Samsung's issue is lack of quality control, they ship probably 100 million phones a year.

You say, phone's processing power heats up the phone/battery too much? could be! I guess the N7 is basically a dead product and Samsung will rush in Note 8.

I just read the problem maybe that the device allows the battery to over charge.

If that's the case, Samsung needs to get back to basics. Even dumbphones don't allow their batteries to overcharge.
