Anyone not have ANY problems with the update?

Who updated and has or does not have issues?

I updated manually today and had zero problems. As a matter of fact, it seemed to take only about 5 minutes

updated this morning following the steps from the main page...now i can't hear out of the ear piece. i can only hear people in speaker mode and i cant figure out how to go back to factory 2.1. Did factory reset and several battery pulls :o

Updated here with zero problems. Up and running great using the update.zip from here. Worked like a charm. My phone met all of the prerequisites from xda (software and baseband) and was never rooted.

I woke up the morning of the 28th to the ota update prompt. I of course immediately updated, and was incredibly happy... for about 20 minutes. Then I figured out my ear speaker was completely dead. So I brought it in to Verizon who gave me a new phone, and now I am sitting "patiently" waiting for the update again. Maybe next week. Or month.

Stock 2.1, never rooted. Read/followed instructions to manually apply OTA update.zip file not long after it was posted early this morning. Kudos to the folks that obtained it and then quickly verified & tested it.
No issues, everything functioning as advertised.

Same here. Only thing irritating me is all the bloatware and other junk. Really irritated that I can't turn off Skype, which I have absolutely zero need for. 1750 battery is suddenly acting worse than the stock battery.

But yea, no actual complaints about the update/update process itself. :)

Upgraded this morning using the posted zip location. No issues that I can discern so far.

Oh, I did have to manually update Google Voice Search ----- for some reason the old one, without the voice commands was still installed. But that's it.

P.S. (from PC): Phone was 'stock' 2.1, no mods, hacks, or voodoo applied...

whenever permissions change you need to manually upgrade in order to authorize the new permissions.

All my windows media file music lost their artist info.

videos linked to at m.flash.com have slow garbled sound. The same videos play perfectly in the motorola droid with froyo so it's gotta be an issue with the bundled flash. Played a couple youtube videos from the desktop version of the website and they play fine.

The 2 problems I have encountered that are really bugging me are the HTC mail widget is freezing. I have removed it and re-added to my homescreen but still freezing. And the second is it's not letting me set personal notifications or ringtones anymore. It is bringing up the default sounds to select from.

I dont have a single problem with froyo 2.2 updated using the OTA (update.zip) that was posted , all good here :D

By personal Notifications and ringtones do you mean ones that you added or made yourself? If so, for the ringtones, they might just be at the very bottom of the list. For the Notifications, you might have to re-add the notification sound. I had a similar problem but now all is well.

Ran through the update.zip file yesterday, everything worked fine until I went underground to the subway. When I came back up from the subway, mobile network was in "turning on" and would not turn on. Only thing working was phone, but not internet.

Has anyone encountered this yet? The only way to get internet to work is by rebooting the phone.

I've noticed one little quirk where upon rebooting my DInc I can't swipe down to unlock it unless I press the the power button to turn the screen off then on and I can't get it not to do that.

Im not rooted and I used the OTA file posted this morning. Thanks

Along similar lines, I have the pattern lock set, but it only prompts me for the swipe pattern if the phone has been locked for more than a couple of minutes. If I hit the power button to sleep the phone, then hit it again within a minute or so, I only need to swipe down to unlock.

This *may* be intentional on HTC's part, but I don't know. In fact, I like it better that I don't have to unlock it each time if I'm working on something and I have to keep getting into my phone to check on stuff.

- stock 2.1, manual update.

Go to settings > security > then

There is an option Lock phone after:

Default is set to 5 minutes. You can change it to immediately and then it will do it right after every lock. You can change it to other intervals of time as well.

Is that a new setting? I don't remember making any changes like that when I first set up the pattern lock (on 2.1).

Either way, thank you. I set it back to immediate.

I loaded the RUU the day it was found and everything has been great, super fast and responsive.. I think loading a fresh OS was the way to go..

I dont get why so many people have problems.. I bet if you were to setup a poll, the MAJORITY of people with issues were not stock, rooted, hacked or whatever.

I've successfully updated my Droid1, DroidX and Droid Incredible to 2.2 and have not had a single problem with any of them.

However, with that said, I'never rooted my phones or done any hacks.. stock 2.1 updated to 2.2

Aggreed!!!

why do you not create a poll, "no issues" or "have issues". This way you do not need to read the post and listen to people complaining. You might also get a count of dinc users on this site. (do not have "not installed" because you only can post once)
