Stock 2.1, never rooted. Read/followed instructions to manually apply OTA update.zip file not long after it was posted early this morning. Kudos to the folks that obtained it and then quickly verified & tested it.
No issues, everything functioning as advertised.
Upgraded this morning using the posted zip location. No issues that I can discern so far.
Oh, I did have to manually update Google Voice Search ----- for some reason the old one, without the voice commands was still installed. But that's it.
Sent from my DROID Incredible using Tapatalk.
P.S. (from PC): Phone was 'stock' 2.1, no mods, hacks, or voodoo applied...
I updated manually today and had zero problems. As a matter of fact, it seemed to take only about 5 minutes
The 2 problems I have encountered that are really bugging me are the HTC mail widget is freezing. I have removed it and re-added to my homescreen but still freezing. And the second is it's not letting me set personal notifications or ringtones anymore. It is bringing up the default sounds to select from.
I've noticed one little quirk where upon rebooting my DInc I can't swipe down to unlock it unless I press the the power button to turn the screen off then on and I can't get it not to do that.
Im not rooted and I used the OTA file posted this morning. Thanks
Along similar lines, I have the pattern lock set, but it only prompts me for the swipe pattern if the phone has been locked for more than a couple of minutes. If I hit the power button to sleep the phone, then hit it again within a minute or so, I only need to swipe down to unlock.
This *may* be intentional on HTC's part, but I don't know. In fact, I like it better that I don't have to unlock it each time if I'm working on something and I have to keep getting into my phone to check on stuff.
- stock 2.1, manual update.
I dont get why so many people have problems.. I bet if you were to setup a poll, the MAJORITY of people with issues were not stock, rooted, hacked or whatever.
I've successfully updated my Droid1, DroidX and Droid Incredible to 2.2 and have not had a single problem with any of them.
However, with that said, I'never rooted my phones or done any hacks.. stock 2.1 updated to 2.2
