Anyone Notice Some Screen Wobble

Mine has a bit of a wobble as well. I'm going to pick up the case from best buy today to see if that cures it. I wasn't really pleased with the cases at Sprint. The one at BB looks to be a clone of the seido that I want anyhow. Just won't have to wait for shipping (and it's cheaper.).

If the keyboard is closed, and the top half of the phone has slight movement, and the bottom half doesn't, is that considered screen wiggle? My first Epic did not do that, but my second one does. It's a little annoying honestly.

Well, The bottom half of my phone has a slight wobble, but that's due to the actual design. The top half doesn't, so yes, that is considered wobble.

Moto Droid does not wobble.

Neither does the D2. but ppl criticize it for not being "springy" I think I'd rather have a solid slider that I have to push, rather a springy one that develops wobble over time.

Kind of disheartening to hear Epic owners are already experiencing it after only 3 days of shelf life.

Oh no here I go again. I already went through this with my Pre. I got pretty paranoid then as I am now, until I saw a video of Palm Pre demonstrating actual screen wobble. I thought to myself, "Yes, thats pretty bad", and my paranoia disappeared.
So please, I ask anyone who is experiencing this screen wobble, can you post a video?

I can't get a video of it; but, if you push on onside you'll feel the screen touch. Then you touch the other side and it touches. If you touch the same side twice it doesn't. All goes for all 4 sides.

Also, when the phone is slid open I can feel the screen wobble when I shake it a bit. Nothing is visually noticeable to my eyes though unless you get really close and stare at it.

It's only annoying because of the fear in the back of my head of it getting worse.

Thankfully, no noticeable wobble. Although I do notice a bit off looseness when adjusting the volume.

Can you open your keyboard, like the picture shown below, and tell me if you see white pieces of plastic on just one side or both sides?

I dont have any issues. compared to my pre this is tight. my first pre no real issues . My second pre moved abit much. The epic keyboard does move. but depending on how I'm doing it. It slides up very easy ,so the spring assist is very good. but when closed, trying to twist it, nothing happens , just the keyboard wants to open.

And no wobble or loosness?

Very slight...nothing I am worried about...yet anyway!

I only had one other phone that was a slider (Palm Pre) and it had much more play in it that the Epic. Obviously I am no expert but it would seem extremely difficult to make a slider that was completely free of any wobble.

Thanks for checking guys. I know it sounds like I'm being a little OCD, but whatever it is causes it the screen to sort of click against the physical keyboard when using the on-screen keyboard, and I don't like the feeling of the top half having absolutely no resistance when I'm holding it and trying to push one of side buttons, especially after having one that didn't do that. Maybe it has something to do with the missing plastic piece.

You are not being OCD. I am experiencing the same looseness. Everytime I make a screen selection the top half "clacks" against the keyboard half. It is annoying. I might try an exchange, even though I don't really want to. I don't think it will get worse or break or anything, it just doesn't feel like it should be this way. Too much movement when closed.

Good luck exchanging. I went to the store today, and they refused to exchange mine over that and the combination of the faulty back button. They said screen looseness/wobble was normal. Then the technician in the store accused me of rooting and flashing a ROM, because she said I had a newer baseband version than the official one. I had to take her to a display model and show her that I was running the same one they had in the store. She reproduced my button problem several times and then said it was probably due to some software I had installed & that they weren't going to exchange it over that. I finally gave up and closed my account.

I have already been to the Best Buy in Daytona Beach, FL where I purchased it. The guy was very cool. He also owned an epic and said his did not wobble like that and that it would annoy him too, if it did. They didn't have any in stock at the time so he took my number. He even called later that day to ask if I had found one. He told me he would call again the day they received their next shipment. I will have no.problem exhanging it. That is why I go to the big box stores, I know they can't really refuse an exchange or return as long as its within the 30 days. I don't know where you purchased but they sound like a**holes.
