Anyone Notice Some Screen Wobble

I have some slight screen wobble on my Epic - Anyone else notice this on theirs.

I started another thread about OREO effect, I just got back from Best Buy and played with the sprint reps EPIC, which he said he had for two weeks.

His EPIC did have screen wobble, which is the reason why I didn't leave with an EPIC.

I do. I plan on getting a new one before the 30 days is up...so this isn't a big deal. My Moment had the same wobble though.

Yeah, I figured as much. Every slider i've used has had this problem. Its fairly slight, so I won't worry about it. I guess it is almost unavoidable with spring loaded slide mechanisms.

i wish the manufacturers would put in a lock on the phone for when the keyboard is closed in order for the phone to stay tight as one piece. Then you simply slide open the lock to slide out the keyboard. I know, it's asking too much.

I believe this is so because if the railing was extremely tight then there would be greater friction causing greater effort to push the slider. I'm pretty sure all sliders are made with this in mind so they have a slight wobble to them.

I don't think there is any chance of a Palm Pre oreo issue here. I can understand, though, why you are a little gun shy. The wobble is good so far as it is minor. It needs to be there on an assisted slider.

Put a 2 piece case on it and the wobble for all intents and purposes disappears.

Mine has a slight wobble but it's not an issue. All sliders should have some wobble.

My touch pro 2 has no wobble (yes I know what you mean though, my Mogul had it and original TP did too, turned that turd in 3 times...they put me into the TP2 for free) and I've had it for 10 months now.

Considering it also tilts after being slid out, well...kudos to HTC for making it with no wobble, even with months of heavy keyboard use (no serious drops).

The tolerance I give for wobbling on a new phone is that if it wobbles and gives a hint of feedback while typing on the QWERTY...that's too much wobble for me personally.

My mogul had a slight wobble and I used it for over two years. Dropped it a few times and never used any case. It's in my dresser and still works fine, the wobble never got worse. It's my backup phone. I'm not too worried about the epic. All new phones have a chance to have a bad build quality, but lets not read too much into a slight wobble.

Every slider wobbles a bit. Get over it.

After owning a Pre for a year, I am so sick of people compiling about slider wobbles. It happens. It's unavoidable, and it doesn't mean that your phone is going to break.

I've seen so many people return their Pres because of a slight wobble, only to end up getting it replaced with a refurb unit that has actual problems, and then spend the next 6 months exchanging crappy refurbs for crappy refurbs.

Moto Droid does not wobble.

That is because it doesn't have a spring.

My Intercept actually makes springy noises if I tap it. Yes, it wobbles a bit, but the spring makes the slide feel much better than the droid, and much better than the Pre.

I went checked some functioning demo units at sprint, and it turns out my epic's screen wobble was more excessive than I originally thought (the screen wiggled a bit while typing with the keyboard open). Returned it for another, and this one is solid. Good times, Good times

I'm not gonna lie, it does seem that the Epic is a LITTLE bit of a plasticky phone. Now that is not totally a bad thing, as it contributes to its awesome light weight. However, I think a little bit of wobbling is inevitable. If you dont have it now, you probably will at some point or another.

Well had to return that one, as it started to develop a squeaking/screeching noise as i opened the slider. I guess it was too solid! The new one I got has a wobble as well, and another unit I checked, had an even worse wobble. I guess these variations are normal - i.e., Samsung's manufacturing may still need to iron out some kinks. I put a sprint case on it - no wobble while typing.

That's funny. I had a little bit of wobble when it was open and just checked it and it's gone... I'm sure it'll be back but it's not bad. First slide phone. Freaks me out.
