Anyone notice two layers of screen protection out of the box?

Just wondering if anyone else noticed this as well. Of course the most obvious layer of screen protection is the hard clear plastic cover that comes on the phone, this has a tab on it to make it easy to identify and to pull off. But if you look closely (at least for mine), there's a second layer underneath that, most people probably wouldn't even see it. Its noticeable if you look hard because its not completely flush with the screen, its a little bit smaller than the screen all the way around. I'm not sure if I want to pull this off, any takers?

Heck I left my factory screen protector on until it fell off and then went out and got those cut to fit screen protectors. So my advice would be to leave that sucker on. Anything that will keep your screen protected is a good thing.

I noticed that too, but am too scared to mess with it. It looks like it's adhered to the screen pretty well.

I noticed it as well, it also has little dots correct? I'm worried it may have something to do with the touch sensor so imma leave taking it off to someone with more cajones. I'll put it this way, the earliest we've been able to get this is a couple days ago and we have 30 days to return it, so some one go for it!

Guys, ITS OKAY TO PULL OFF THE SECOND LAYER! I just did it, because it got a visible scratch in it (so much for it being a scratch protector), and I was totally scared what would happen, but once you lift it off, you get the real gorilla glass! Or just keep it on, but I did notice that the sensitivity did increase once I took of the hidden second layer. So anyways, its SAFE to pull it off :)

Im so jealous of all of you...lol. None of the Best Buy's in my area will sell it to me!!!

That second layer seems awfully "attached"... I'm still scared to try it... but I have noticed sensitivity issues, so it's tempting.

Yeah, if you don't mind it, then keep it on. But getting it off was difficult without resorting to something like a knife, I tried various kinds of paper to no avail, but then I remembered I had a super-thin guitar pick, and that worked. The benefits of doing this: you get to feel the awesome gorilla glass underneath! Touching glass is nice :)

can you post a picture or something? I find it odd that they put their own screen "protector" on top of Gorilla glass...

Basically, this is just a factory applied screen protector. I actually think it's quite nice considering that it's damn near impossible to get one on there perfectly yourself. I'll leave mine on for now unless I find reason to remove it. My epic 4g that I'm ditching now for VM had gorilla glass and I still got a couple of scratches in it. So I'm keeping this tell it get's scratched or just comes off.

I'm not sure if its supposed to be a screen protector. Another person at howardforums said it was for radiation, but the biggest reason why I don't think its purpose is as a screen protector is that it scratches so easily! Its honestly not even a modestly good screen protector.

I just removed it and WOW did it improve the screen response! I noticed that sometimes a touch or a swipe wouldn't register but not anymore! Even the screen appears to have more contrast. If you take it off, you'll see that it isn't just a thin protector either...it's pretty thick which would explain why the screen looks and performs better with it off. I just used my nail to dig into the corner and peel off that sticker to reveal the beautiful Gorilla Glass underneath!

so will the gorilla glass scratch is anyone putting on a new screen protector or just leaving it as is?

Well, I already ordered a 2 pack of screen protectors so I will try it to see how it is. If it drops the screen response time or screen clarity I'm taking it back off.

well zagg's has there's on there website now. i have it for OV and my droid X they work really good. right now i cut the tab on the easy screen protector so i still have the 2 on there. its not the best but it works ok. i guess i like protection.

I took off the 2nd screen protector. That thing is thick! The screen is much more responsive now.
the 2nd sreen protector felt like it could cut my finger if I wasn't careful - almost like plastic packaging!

And its still responsive with two thick a$$ protectors? I've heard about response problems with just the one layer...
