Anyone on line or score a GN at a store today?

I can see your point with this, but it just makes NO SENSE that the phone has a software problem. This thing has been out for weeks, as Google employees have had them and a few other people in positions of power. I just cant wrap my head around the fact that actual google employees have these devices that are running buggy and putting up with it. Isnt it kind of their job to make sure the phone runs smooth? So wouldnt they want to use a phone that ran smooth?
Sorry I dont mean to attack you if it seemed that way, its just hard for me to believe that after all this time. Not to mention the fact that only the CDMA version is buggy and the GSM isnt. Their practically the same phone with different radios. I just want some Icecream.....:'(

It's CDMA with LTE. And that's really a big difference, particularly when you start thinking about radio switching between 3G/4G, etc. Although it doesn't sound like much of a difference, it's actually much more complicated.

Exactly and I stated this in one of the other threads. GSM versus CDMA/LTE is a HUGE difference. The Charge had some major connectivity issues when it first came out. I know that people complained about the Thunderbolt as well, but the Charge I think had the most issues and guess who made the Charge?

Its ok, I'll just flash a different ROM this weekend and play with that to keep me occupied until the Nexus is ready. Keep doing the same thing until its finally released. Wipe wipe wipe, Flash...another delay? Wipe wipe wipe, flash! :p

I stopped in an authorized VZW retailer here in NC hoping to find a clueless salesperson trying to make a buck. Walked into the wrong guy that knew well what was going on and would NOT sell one. He said next Thursday the 15th but everyone knows how that goes.....

Where in NC? I'm in Raleigh.

Just got back from the 0900 appointment I made earlier this week at my local corp store. As expected, no joy. The rep said he thought it would release on the 15th (but he admitted he didn't know anything for sure), and also said he thought (not a fact, just his thoughts) they pushed it back to let the XY tablet release first. This is exactly the reason I believe we lost the release today...get another bloat device out first. And honestly, I think we'll loose the 15th as well, to the Droid 4 releasing on the 22nd. As long as they have another Droid (bloat) device ready to sell before Christmas day, I don't think they're going to let the Nexus out. My personal suspicions are that we will see this phone the week after Christmas.

your negativity is killing me. there is more "evidence" supporting that it will be released next week than there is not. they know how "highly anticipated" this device is so they are not going to wait another week to capitalize on Christmas sales. Today was almost the set in stone date until they ran into a minor problem (as evidenced by demos, ads, and stock arriving in stores). the only way we'll lose the 15 (or earlier--see Costco screenshot) is if they run into more problems.

The problem(s) I was hinting at was the ones the OTA update that is going to be available for this corrects. Verizon is probably looking for every reason to keep pushing this thing back or it was planned all along to release a week or so before Christmas. That doesn't explain why there's been seemingly solid dates floating around though. The Android community has sources that are somewhat in the know, so it would be absurd to think some of the dates weren't mentioned at VZW.

One of my friends runs a VZW store here and told me last night that they got an email that said the date was pushed back and to not sell their stock until the 15th. No, he wouldn't sell me one. lol

Sigh... Like others have reported no dice... Disappointing if they don't hurry up and release this phone I'm going to be stuck with this razr and have to start a new line for the nexus

Yup, that is what they are doing. Making sure renters turn into ownership. ;)

LOLOLOLOLOL @ anyone even calling a corporate store or agent today, let alone driving out to one. There are no outlets selling this phone. The instructions were sent and are clear. You will not get a Nexus phone today. The 15th is the new date.

Why would you be stuck? Do you have a backup phone still? You could just return the razr flat out and keep waiting. You dont have to exchange, you can just return. VZW as an undo button.

If the Rezound happens to get S-OFF between now and the GN release there's really no point in getting a GN. I'm down for either but not happy with the games VZW is playing.

Yeah I've told myself I'm getting a Rezound if it gets S-Off before the GN releases. Once the Rezound gets S-off I'm going to start myself on a one week timer. Unless I change my mind, which does happen and often, I'll probably end up with it.

Having a pure Nexus device would be great but the higher pixels per inch is looking pretty nice not to mention the SD slot. 16GB + my 32GB card would be a hell of a lot of storage for me! Just not sure if I want to upgrade from an Incredible to it, because it basically the same phone on steroids. Would like something different for a change.

I just called about my appointment. The rep said it was defineitly the 15th.. Im not going to believe it though until they put out a press release.

The 15th is the new 9th.

I can't do anything until DEC 29, that is the date I can upgrade my phone. Was hoping to have more time to compare to other phones, read reviews and actually play with this before that date, but it is what it is.

Well, not to stir up the pot but this just showed up in my inbox...

The Galaxy Nexus will not be available for purchase today. All phones that miss their all-channel launch date get pushed back to the following Thursday. Sometimes our national system does it automatically, so on certain employee systems, the date may have shown up as 12/15. This is likely why you're hearing VZW employees mention this date. All of our stores nationwide will have full stock of the phone by the end of the day today. If the device issues that made us decide to hold off are ironed out, the device is going to be released for sale the very next day. But as of right now, there is no set release date. I would say that an announcement is imminent. Based on reports from the QC department, it is very possible the device will launch sooner than 12/15, but it will not launch at any time today.

Edit: I emailed this guy five times, and kept asking why I was being told 12/12 and 12/15 if there was no release date... he finally responded with the message above.

Except there are people in other threads who were able to pick up the phone, so it is possible. It would be nice if folks would use one of the other 10s of threads for arguing what the delay is about, and instead only use this thread for updates on what each person's experience is at individual stores.
