Anyone on line or score a GN at a store today?

Radio Shack called me back. Theyre happy to sell me the phone. When Verizon gives them the ok. This is the most disgusting, stupid and frustrating tech product release ever.
Yes but the snarky attitude is not necessary and only serves to rile people up. Coming here with the purpose to mock or incite people earns you the title of troll.

I ordered one online (I got it just by exchanging two older phones and getting my friends to give VZW some of theirs too!) and it was being packaged up and about to be shipped. But then U.S. Cellular called David Stern and got him to mandate that Verizon wasn't allowed to sell it anymore.
do NOT let this thread turn into another bickering trollfest. this kind of attitude is seriously uncalled for and does nothing for anyone. JFMFT has been long established as being the significant other of a fairly high(er than not) ranking VZW employee, and has provided us with decent intel on the gnex.
regardless of that, obvious trollers will be dealt with accordingly by the mods and anyone who attacks other fellow androidcentralians has no business being here, through and though.
tl;dr: quit your bickering and lets remain constructive or at least respectful when it comes to other members...

Nope no backup phone I just started service with Verizon... Guess I should have waited, but I got my phone at best buy and they told me I have 30 days to return the phone so I got some time, just hope it's released this month.
Edit: Actually I think I have an old original razr around here somewhere... Good thinking, thanks for the idea.

I called an authorized retailer and he said that it was supposed to be this week but got pushed back and he said the 15th was the date now. He seemed pretty certain.

I called about 30 different stores in the NY area. All pretty much said that it was suppose to be released today but got recalled. A few said next week possibly Monday or Thursday. Hopefully its Monday

I'm in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn at the moment. So basically every store from here to Downtown Manhattan.
I'm gonna try some Bestbuys next. I doubt it but maybe I'll get lucky and find someone who didn't get the memo.
Yea, almost snuck the only one in stock at my local radio shack. Close but they called to see if they could sell it yet. Bummer!!!
I just got back from BB in Burbank and they had stock but none for sale but the BB sales person said maybe on Sunday. The Verizon rep happened to be there and he said they will be released on the 15th most likely. I asked him what had happened, was it a network issue, a software issue and he said they had felt it was a supply issue. Not enough phones for the demand...go figure.
What was really interesting is they had a BB flyer in Spanish and they had the GN on the back over but it was called the Nexus Prime.

no one has the right to be an "arse" in any case if you ask me. I was attempting to address everyone who is involved, even passively, from letting yet another thread go down the drain. members are taking even the smallest, worthless and harmless, even mundane comments/replies personally, creating a slippery slope of useless drama. others are taking worthwhile posts completely out of context and are then slamming it to the ground.
I think all of us could use a step back from the craziness that is this Galaxy Nexus release while we wait for an official launch. if you feel wronged or otherwise disrespected, report it if necessary, deal with it constructively and respectfully or move on.
It appears that what people are saying on here about the 12th must be the new release date. On my way home from rotations tonight, I stopped by 3 Verizon stores (I have a lot in my area in Tampa). All three of them told me that the new release date was the 12th. I asked them if I could see a demo and they told me that they didn't have any......kinda think that was a fib but I can understand their position. So, lets see what other excuse Verizon can use to delay it another week to give the Razr and Rezound more sales....lol
