Anyone putting stock in Dec 15th?

If anyone believes that December 9th wasn't the launch date for this phone, they need to be slapped. Just because Verizon didn't officially announce it doesn't mean it wasn't the date. They were going to announce it, then changed their mind due to connectivity issues and a nationwide 4G outage. I'm not mad at Verizon for delaying the phone if it has issues, but I laugh every time I hear someone say "But Verizon didn't officially announce it so it wasn't delayed". Consider yourselves lucky to be too ignorant to know you missed out on the phone on Friday, thus making it easier to deal with the wait.

This.

Also, I forgot what the difference between Thanks and Like is, so I just did both. Enjoy your inflated forum rating!

FWIW, Cheetara over at the Phandroid forums is confirmed, as of today, that the 15th date is the OFFICIAL targeted launch date now. Cheetara has been pretty spot on in the paste about releases/insider information. Also, Cheetara was previously unwilling to give definitive date. I definitely have faith in the December 15th target date now, unless the bottom completely falls out tomorrow.

It's not "official" by any means, but I certainly 100% believe that Verizon is targeting the 15th. Cheetara has always reported good information.

P.S. My local verizon stores are saying the 15th also, yesterday they were not. Talk to the same person, also.

That would be nice. I can go in the morning and will leave with the phone, car and, desk dock. :)

I am sure the 15th is the current "target" date.

There is obviously a problem with the phone and Verizon does not feel it is ready to be sold until an update comes from Google/Samsung. As of right now there is no update and the phone's release date is going to continue to be pushed back until that update is ready. I have zero faith we will see the phone on Thursday unless we start hearing chatter about a software update being ready.

If people believe anything a store employee is telling them, I have a bridge to sell you.

I think the 15th makes sense if they were waiting for the 4.0.2 or even 4.1 update which would have only been tested for a few days before last week's rumored release date. Would make sense to have an extra week of testing and getting more phones to stores with an update ready for launch day IMO.

I went from hanging on every rumor to just assuming that I won't get it before Xmas.

If I do, I will be happily surprised.

* I have no proof or anything either way, I'm just not going to let myself get disappointed again.

I rooted my Asus Transformer last night so at least I have something new to mess around with until this thing comes out.

I am definitely putting in some stock for Thursday. The phones were painstakingly inspected and tested, shipped to stores and now they're in stock rooms, ready to go. Last Friday was the definitive release date, until an emergency of some sort caused them to halt all sales. They have a new target release date for this Thursday, about a week later, and hopefully that was enough time for them to resolve the issue(s). :-*

To be honest, after just reading the post about best buy calling someone and asking for the phone back with just a few days to go before the launch doesn't make sense to me. Would they really go out of their way to call someone for 3 days?

Because they are facing fines and other penalties. 3 days or not, it won't change the fact that they sold it before it was meant to be sold and verizon can crack down on them.

You know that's probably a good idea. After thinking about it maybe I shouldn't get too excited. I followed that link to android forums and got caught up again. It really sucked coming here and seeing the post by Phil on another delay, right after leaving the Verizon store after they told me it would be the 9th.

When the black Friday ads were released were you "too ignorant" to know you missed out on the phone then? Should we have slapped you everyday past then?

You seriously expect a surprise release? That's what you are saying right? No announcement just released?

If one of my employees screws up sale and undercharges someone, i make them call the customer ans ask them to return with the difference. The customer is of course not required to do so. If they don't, the difference comes out of the employee's pocket.

I don't think you can do that in mass but I could be wrong. I remember having a conversation with someone about an employer charging the employee for something and we found out they could only fire them over it. I think it was paying for damages with a company vehicle

Not saying I dont agree with the way you do it cause that way does sound fair.

I called my local verizon corporate store on Saturday and he told me it's for sure the 15th. So that's the date I'm banking on.

EDIT: He also said they have them in stock, just can't sell them yet.
